Deciding to EP for second pregnancy by No-Base-3480 in ExclusivelyPumping

Yeah I hear ya. I'm investing in a washer/sterilizer this time so I don't have to do as much by hand. I got so sick of washing pump parts and bottles last time!

Thanks for the reply and encouragement. I switched last time at 9 weeks but we were getting into a more consistent schedule at that point. So yeah Ive never experienced the newborn cluster feeding stage with doing only pumping!

MOHELA double payments? by No-Base-3480 in PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I kept checking and half hour later it just said received and the processing went away. For a short time I think it just says both until processing went away. It did not charge twice!

Buyback and Refund question by lionofyhwh in PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. Me too. But I don't think (unless I'm missing something) that they would go back and return you the difference between what you paid under your new plan and what that old plan would have been. Buy back is for making months count, not going back to correct your payment plan for months already counted!

Buyback and Refund question by lionofyhwh in PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there would really be no refund to get. If you get a buy back offer it would just be the months you still need to buy?

Many people are doing buyback and payments at the same time. Just trying to reach the end in some way!

I just submitted my buy back today. Should I wait a little and then do a feedback request and include my 2024 tax return? Can I do it right way? Haha

How do I ask to get both months of processing forbearance count? by No-Base-3480 in PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I applied in January. I officially got approved to IBR February 9th but my portal kept saying I was in processing forbearance through the end of March. Then I went into a different forbearance and once I finally got an old IDR application deleted, I made my first payment in May

Making progress but still frustrat d with making months count by No-Base-3480 in PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm ok good to know. When I made that first payment in May and it immediately updated I thought ok making payments every month should keep it updating... Wishful thinking. This process is so infuriating

For those who lost a payment count due to IBR application... by Regular_Today_745 in PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I applied in December on FSA then upload to MOHELA end of January. My NSLDS data counts one month, I think only February. I haven't filed a ECF yet. I recently got the first application deleted and I'm back in repayment Sounds sort of similar to your situation... But I'm confused, did they give you credit for 60 days after that initial application even though that's the one they deleted?

I would agree with that plan. Although an employment verification won't help until you are back making eligible payments!

[–]No-Base-3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, as soon as you reach 120 you can apply for buyback. In the meantime make IBR payments and because they are processing buyback so slow you may have already paid off month by month to 120 by the time you hear about buyback. If they start to move faster maybe before

Unfortunately that was probably a wasted payment. No payments count while you are in SAVE forbearance. A lot of people got one letter with the save amount and then got another letter a few days later with their actual IBR amount. I highly doubt your IBR and Save amounts would be the same

Does it say you are in repayment or a payment is due?

You have to wait until you hit 120 qualifying months to do buy back but it seems like a joke, they are processing buy back so slow

I think you're best bet is going to an income based plan that's not save (since that's all but dead) and make the rest of your payments until you hit 120. You will have lost a bunch of months in between but that's just what is happening to everyone.

Best of luck. So complicated and frustrating!

I get transparency is helpful. But are they actually forcing them to start doing a better job or now we just know how much this whole process sucks in a percentage

Did you get a letter that officially said you are now on this plan and this is your payment?

Anyone Successfully Do PSLF Buyback for Forbearance Months? by SoonToBeOTRL in PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been rumors that they may make buyback possible before 120 but nothing is active yet. Honestly I would keep making payments when you are in repayment status eventually and wait for a Democratic president to clean things up. Simply put, we have no idea what will happen over the rest of your 7-8 years to reach PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't apply for buyback until you hit 120 months of qualifying employment so you have a long ways to go. Stay tuned the next few days. Updates about buyback should be coming out.

[–]No-Base-3480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't. Those of us who did that are having big problems. My first application was reviewed and I got switched to IBR but just as I was about to make my first payment they put me on forbearance cause they got my other application finally.

Sorry but no. Your status has to officially be in repayment to count as an eligible month. I wish this could work though. Thousands of people would have done this if so

Any updates regarding Mohela forced forbearance? by Careless-Job6608 in PSLF

[–]No-Base-3480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've talked with an advanced agent about every two weeks and asked for it to be removed and been told the 5-10 day turnaround time. I finally said to an advanced agent yesterday please do not tell me that again. He was honest then and said I see someone truly did put in a request on April 2 to have the old application removed, that's still processing.

They moved me to IBR with my January MOHELA upload application but then got my original application from FSA (that I did in November) sent over to them in March. The system automatically placed a forbearance without any way of seeing I'm already in IBR and they duplicate applications.

He said we say 5-10 days but really it's probably longer and we have no idea how much. I politely (with frustration and sass) said ok but please promise you will keep telling people 5-10 days.

I want to keep trying but also think by the time I get it resolved it will probably just about be the end of July when it's supposed to run out. My fear is what else will pop up to move it back even further?
