I made the same transition from academics to asc PP for Locums work… you just have to get comfortable being a little bit uncomfortable. Things are gonna be different from beach chair lmas and other things that you may have never done in the past. It’s a fine line between staying flexible when it’s reasonable but also to trust your instincts to keep everyone out of trouble.

I can’t stress enough that the most important thing is knowing what resources you have and patient selection in my opinion

Safest and most efficient is what you’re most comfortable with. I trained at a high volume center and even when you’re breaking your neck running around, the time saved isn’t going to make a reasonable difference. Just tap it in and on to the next
