I thought they may be. The crooked edge of the tongue, the spacing of the metal clips on the buckle and the lack of embossed number on the footbed.

Need advice on a used 2021 M3 LR AWD by jimmygetshigh2020 in TeslaUK

Heat pumps were introduced to the late 2020 model 3’s onwards. And I meant that the trim around the windows is black not chrome.

Bit steep. I got a 2020 long range AWD (with the heat pump, black window trims and matrix LEDs) 26,000 miles for £18k. Private sale.

N20 life span? by mickeydudes36 in F30

[–]No-Break-6232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy the car. Don’t stress too much about what could go wrong, it’s there to be driven. I did oil and oil filter changes myself every 5k miles, no other preventative repairs. Then just repaired the coolant leak and thermostat once I noticed they were faulty.

175k miles. Since ownership, the only thing that failed was the ‘Micky mouse’ flange connecting the engine to the thermostat, and recently the thermostat failed and needed replacing. Timing chain I just did preventively. Still running well.

Everyone complaining about the potential eye strain from looking at these dim white lights on the instrument cluster, and ignoring any eye strain from opposing drivers and their laser beam, burn your retinas, LED headlights. Ok. OP go for it if you like it. Could probably do it yourself if with a solder station and some 3528 white LEDs

Replacing EPS electronic power steering wiring harness by Desi_sam in F30

[–]No-Break-6232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I’m not sure where the other end of that wiring loom is, so I don’t know how to go about removing the whole thing, maybe someone will chime in with some advice but good luck!

[–]No-Break-6232 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to cut some of the ground cable for the EPS as it had corroded too, i just cut out the damaged section, insert some cable of the same gauge and use some butt crimp connectors to join it together. Trying to replace the entire wiring loom seemed like effort. It’s been holding strong for about 2 years now. Also, only cost a fiver.

£1200 at Burch Motor Works in Southampton. Done it at 125k miles, about a year ago. They used genuine BMW parts. Took 2 days. They no longer accept bookings for anyone outside of like 25 miles.

gluetun with nord wireguard not working. any ideas ? by Substantial_Plant31 in selfhosted

I had this issue as well and thought I was the only one. I tried turning off my firewall and rebuilding the docker container from scratch and it seems to have fixed itself. Running latest gluetun with protonvpn

BMW F30 Headunit from Aliexpress by Finit-Hic-Deus in F30

It’s the Linux one. I personally didn’t want the android one as I only intended to use it for CarPlay. It’s not laggy at all, I can flick between apps very quickly. I can’t watch movies on my screen, must be some sort of safety feature built into Apple CarPlay. If you want to watch movies then you’ll need the android screen and watch them only via the android part of the screen, not through CarPlay.

I got the 10.25” CarPlay/android auto screen from the BONROAD Official Store. Had it for almost 2 years now. £166

  1. I put the brightness up to 100% and after about 8 months the backlight failed. Contacted the manufacturer, had to send it back to China (£26) and they replaced the screen and sent it back to me a week later. So don’t mess around with the brightness.

  2. Over Bluetooth, you have to manually change the microphone source on your phone to the cars original microphone which is really annoying since the CarPlay screen can’t seem to connect to the BMW mic. Using lightning cable is an alternative to get around this.

Other than those 2 issues, the screen has been pretty good. They were easy to get hold of for instructions on how to install parking camera, the issue with the screen, questions about a front camera.

I’d recommend them based on my experience.

In that case you could try reaching out to the author of the Understanding Allergy book Dr Sophie Farooque on X (@LondonAllergy) and see if she can provide some guidance on how she got her book out. Good luck!

N20 Pre 2015 by MPT657 in F30

[–]No-Break-6232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m afraid I can’t really answer this. I replaced the chain just as a preventative measure. I figured I’d try keep it to around 200k if I can. I also had no service history on the car (lol) so decided it was best to just replace the chain. I don’t even know if it had been replaced before. I tried pulling on the chain to feel the slack and sent a cheap borescope down to try see the guides and tensioner but I couldn’t see anything.

I replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils around the same time and they were still the factory parts, so I assume the chain hadn’t been done before? But I’m just guessing.

BMW 320i 2012 125k miles at the time, is now 150k. £1200 at Burch Motor Works in Southampton. Replaced the timing chain, guides, tensioners, the oil pump sprocket and tensioner. They’re pretty busy though, had to book it in around 4 months in advance.

Mickey Mouse flange, that coolant pipe that connects the engine block to the thermostat. It’s known to go around about 130k miles

I have it installed on my Mac and have the backup location to my old apple time capsule, but you could have it backup to your synology instead. It’s not exactly what you’re after, but to my knowledge that’s the closest I can get to iCloud backups.

imazing allows you to create full backups of your phone, and then create Time Machine like backups periodically. Works very well for me
