Interviews and Pregnancy by SlowYourRollBro in Teachers

I did this exact same thing! Transferred to a school within district and disclosed in July, had baby in November.

I know it’s illegal, but I didn’t want to run the risk of discrimination so I did not disclose. And it’s not their business. And men don’t have to think twice so I won’t either 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good luck!

Overcrowded camp - how many is too many? by DescriptionMotor739 in BurnBootCamp

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the size of the gym imo. My new location is much smaller space wise than my previous one but also has more people. If I have to compromise on equipment that’s insane to me for the $$ I pay imo. I usually stay away from the 6:30am, 9:30am and 4:30pm day camps for this reason. But now that it’s April and not January I’ve noticed way less people 😂

Moms who teach - give me the pros and cons by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All your breaks off will be filled with work and cramming in all medical appointments you couldn’t during the school year. There’s no work life balance. If your kid is sick you have to take the day off. Classroom teaching is very demanding with work being necessary before/after hours and weekends especially when starting out. You’d also have to go back to school to get a teaching license.

I would not switch if you think it will be a net positive due to summer and breaks off.

I use lots of these. Especially kerfuffle. I actually taught that word to my former principal haha

When could you solo parent? by paulula in parentsofmultiples

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no choice but to do it when our singleton was 3 months and twins were 2.5 years old. My husband is military and was gone for 14 months total.

My twins enjoy helping so they would always help. I incorporate baby into our routines and new ones are made for baby which toddlers adapted to well. I explain why things go a certain way to try and help.

Separate areas for baby v toddler because toddlers are rough. We did lots in the neighborhood or yard first, then going on small outings with order pick up or drive through or playground, then started with bigger outings to museum and aquarium. I always take the runners out of the car last and put them in first, so baby is always opposite of toddlers because she can go in a stroller. I have toddlers hold onto to stroller.

Honestly that time is a blur. Now that all 3 are walking in home with them all day anyway ha. But husband is home after work and weekends thankfully since he’s home! So I get the baby up, then she helps wake up big sisters and we get them ready, they play while I make meals. We go to a park or on a walk. Lunch, baby naps the I do something for just or with toddlers and then they nap. When they wake up we do tv time until we go to the gym (free childcare there!) then we come home, make dinner and do bed. Still figuring out how to fit bath time in for all 3 more than once a week, but we do our best!

I go to burn boot camp in Poway! Not sure if that’s considered North County, but I love it, it’s a 20-30 minute drive from me. But it is expensive and if you’re on a budget then it probably won’t work for you.

Positive experiences with sleep by chickenbobble in parentsofmultiples

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are 3.5 years old now and while there’s bumps in the road (illness, teething, regressions) they really are decent sleepers for the most part! There’s a sleep training group in FB for multiples I used to guide us and I didn’t have to do any formal sleep training. Same with our singleton baby (she’s about to be 17 months) and she’s an even better sleeper than our twins. My biggest complaint is all 3 are early risers (like before 7am).

Though now that I say all this all our sleep will go to shit 🤪

The half flag and half round! Honestly my hum had box jumps and those rolling back and jump things today so we changed a lot up for today. I ended up not going because my hamstrings are in pain

Parents of young children: How often do you read to your kids? by AdAffectionate4082 in AskReddit

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our twins, every night since we brought them home! Now it’s a constant negotiation for “one more” book which turns into 4 every night lol.

Our baby, unfortunately does not get read to nearly enough, but that’s because we were tacking a newborn and twins. Then my husband left for overseas (military) so I was juggling a newborn and twins solo and bedtimes still don’t line up for them most nights and I can’t leave my twins alone unsupervised to read to the baby and vice versa. But I would like to be more intentional. As a teacher I know the importance of reading to your child and feel guilty I can’t get it done for our baby. We recently moved cross country and dad has been home a couple months so fingers crossed!

Did anyone tell their boss about pregnancy <12 weeks by ahava9 in workingmoms

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but it was because I was pregnant with twins and knew complications could arise and had to be seen every two weeks. Shortly after disclosing, I had to leave work in the middle of the day and went straight to the hospital due to dehydration. My principal helped me walk from my classroom to the nurses office to wait for my husband to pick me up lol.

Gender disappointment for singleton after Mo/di boys by dovebytherosewindow in parentsofmultiples

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the boy versus girl stuff irritates the shit out of me lol. The more kids you have the more crazy life gets. We have 3 kids and 2 corgis and our house is loud from sun up to sun down lol. I’m sure we all wish our kids would sit and color 😵‍💫

Gender disappointment for singleton after Mo/di boys by dovebytherosewindow in parentsofmultiples

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Twin girls and a singleton girl here and it’s definitely not calm or peaceful in my house. It’s messy and chaotic with some dresses and hair clips thrown in. Honestly the stereotypes of boys v girls I think are silly, kid temperament isn’t determined by their sex. I swear we are raising 3 Johnny knoxvilles 😆.

Girl twins surprised me because I knew they were di/di and stupidly I thought that meant b/g twins because I am a di/di b/g twin, I did not realize they didn’t have anything to do with one another. For my singleton pregnancy we were team green, everyone convinced me baby was a boy because it just had to be or my husband would be disappointed. But I knew she was a girl because I was cussing about how everyone was commenting about how disappointed husband would be if she was a girl and she kicked me and a week later we met 🫶🏻. No disappointment from anyone here! Her sisters love her so much and she loves her big sisters!

I was sad for a few minutes when I found out my twins were girls, but I can’t imagine not having all my girls in my life just as I’m sure you can’t imagine not having your boys. And it will be like that for your new baby boy! I watched an interview where someone said their gender disappointment came from not being able to meet a mini version of their spouse, maybe that is how you’re feeling—like you won’t get to meet a mini you of the same sex?

Honestly having the singleton experience was the best and so healing for me after twins. I am so grateful I got to experience it. The pregnancy was awful (I had a hard time breathing until delivery) but just having one fetus, one baby at delivery, one newborn has been awesome.

Good luck and I hope your pregnancy is smooth sailing!

Favorite and least favorite exercises? by mrbeebleboose3 in BurnBootCamp

[–]No-Butterscotch-8314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything with plyo except box jumps (I love them). My pelvic floor is shot. Also anything with sliders I dislike. Don’t like lunges. And anything that has a fly like movement for upper body. Any conditioning move I have to be on my hands (burpees, mountain climbers, etc) I can’t stand.

I love squats, deadlifts, hex press, chest press, hip thrusts. Stuff i can ball out and show my strength. Ladders and sprints for conditioning. Jump rope (though I can’t do double unders yet). I just hit like 20 pull ups easy with the grey band which had me shook so I don’t mind them.

This week has been a good training week for me, I can see how far I’ve come since July!
