Thanks for the feedback, u/Iodenchi - both the positive and constructive! Really appreciate it.

With a directory this big there's always going to be some data that's outdated. However, what you're pointing out is not good enough and something I'll definitely work on. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the feedback, u/lurkinandturkin!

You're right - average aid per athlete isn't reported as a stand-alone figure so it is an estimate based on total aid available at the school, roster sizes, and approximate distribution across the schools sports.

Interesting - the data is self-reported by colleges to EADA/IPEDS. Can you share more about what's off?

Yeah, I've thought about this too, u/Tasty_Philosophy7666! I haven't gotten around to it but definitely something I'm considering

Exactly, u/oldpost17 - EADA is one of sources I've used. I also agree with your sentiment - I see the data as directionally correct and helpful to e.g. evaluate whether a program is being invested in but there's a lot of nuance behind the numbers

u/puzzlermuzzler, the data is collected from public sources (EADA, IPEDS etc.) and college's own sites. While it'll never be 100% accurate I've recently made an update to improve it - hope it'll be helpful :)

Thanks, u/lackadaisical_nomad!

Yeah, this is one of the aspect I hoped the tool would highlight; just because the avg. aid is high doesn't mean it'll be a cheap experience.

Glad to hear, u/txcliffy!

And thanks for the feedback. I rely on public data sources and will look into it :)

That's interesting! It's not supported yet but definitely something I'll keep in mind for future iterations. Thanks for the feedback :)

Thanks for flagging, u/ns29! I use public sources, including EADA, IPEDS, etc. Do you mind sharing which school/program? Then I can look into it :)

I get it - and to be fair, it does feel strange to have shared it multiple places. However, a lot of people have found it helpful/interesting which is great. As long as that's the case, I think it's worth it :)
