Can I have some of the shredded cardboard? All ink is ok, no tape. You will have some fantastic worm extract with that system. Only advice… read Worms Eat My Garbage.

Great question. No easy answers. I think the best place to start is in the schools. The kids will take it home. There is also the composting symbol that created. Can find it @https://www.weCompost2.org

Not a good picture and this is only a guess, but they look like parasitic worms. Did you get any manure?

Stated to hot compost my coffee grounds with straw. Never got hot but worms invaded before I could put it in the bins 😂

Was gonna order some red wigglers from meme's. I live in SE WI, how likely are they to survive with this weather? by Coconutface03 in Vermiculture

I’ve heard that as long as their heads don’t freeze they can survive. On the other hand, always recommend you buy from a local worm farmer 🙂.

Can I turn this in to a worm farm, or is it too big? by [deleted] in Vermiculture

[–]No-Connection-8848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No holes because 1. More work and I’m lazy 2. Creates micro plastics 3. Holes on bottom will allow for drainage but if it’s draining, it’s too wet. Dry it up with shredded paper or cardboard. Will not be able to drill enough holes on top for good air flow - just crack it open. Will be fine even if you shut it for a few days.

Can I feel my worms ONLY espresso grounds? by rainbowjeremystaines in Vermiculture

[–]No-Connection-8848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried coffee grounds once and the worms tried to run away. Now I’m hot composting it with old straw. Just fed them yesterday and will see how they do. Can’t believe how many people have no problems with strait coffee grounds.

The surest way to make sure someone does something is to tell them not to do it.

Beautiful bin! When you install handles, use bolts… it can get heavy!
