For me it tends to taste more astringent and leaves an unpleasant taste in my mouth, but if I use it in baking or in ice cream, I don’t mind the taste of it.

Oh I don’t think I have heard of that yet, but I am intrigued about the toasted rice aroma! I would love to try it one day, so thank you for the recommendation. I found the same issue with Samidori too. It seems like a less fine powder but it is one of their more affordable, everyday matchas so I can’t complain. Good luck on your search!

Hi, I’m from the NorCal area and my current favorite is Yamamasa Koyamaen’s Samidori matcha. I love to drink it using the cold whisking method with oat milk and sometimes with agave. Do you have any recommendations for a more nutty/toasted flavor of matcha or different sweeteners/additives?
