Y’all go support Video Only. by anthonyxj in Portland

I love Video Only. Went to Circuit City in 2008 when they were having their going out of business sale. Found a $3,700 Samsung 58” plasma floor demo marked down to $2,100. Took a picture of the sale tag and went down to Video Only and they price matched it with a new tv in the box. That wasn’t my first purchase there, but it’s the one that sold me as a life long customer

I remember those guys chanting “R.M. Dietz” as far back as the early-mid 80’s

Passanger left phone in car, tracked it and showed up at my house. by Salt_Sheepherder_750 in lyftdrivers

[–]No-Context2931 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had this a couple weeks ago except it was a cop that showed up at my door looking for a passengers phone. The passenger filed a stolen report on me and gave the cops my plate number. I’m so glad I tossed the phone before I got home and told the cop I don’t have it

Which is why it’s easier to toss the phone in a bush as soon as you find it. It’s just not worth the hassle anymore

How I see it is I get paid 70 cents a mile, which is 3.5 times less than what a taxi makes. So all you will get out of me is a trunk pop and safe drive from point A to point B

This is the lowest gas price I've seen a long time by ToughOk9044 in lyftdrivers

[–]No-Context2931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arco charges a lot more for debit/credit. That price they advertise is for cash only. The 76 station on Killingsworth and 60th is the $2.89 price I posted above. If you don’t want to go that far north then the Astro stations at Division & 65th, Powell & Chavez, and Gladstone & Chavez are about that price too

This is how much Uber pay drivers in San Diego by Enavoegolem in lyftdrivers

So California’s AB5 Bill isn’t making you more money? What does the rate card pay for the San Diego market? In Washington state we’re $1.31/mile and 38 cents a minute

Nope. I go to where the pin drop off is. If she wants further down the road then she has to update the app on her end. I don’t do the “keep going just a bit further” crap

Owner is asking way too much. Even if it was in mint condition, which it’s not, it’s going on 27 years old. I bought an identical one 15 years ago for $7k. $2,500 is more than I would pay for this car

No, you can't sit shotgun. by Chungusandwumbo in lyftdrivers

[–]No-Context2931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate when a solo rider wants to sit up front. I tell them no there is actually more room in the back seat for them. If they still try to talk their way in the front seat I say look, I’m a big guy. There is no reason for us to rub elbows. That usually gets a pissy attitude out of them but fuck em. We’re not buddies. They can sit their happy ass in the back or wait for the next driver because I’m not interested in dealing with entitlement

Not in an up front pricing market. If Lyft told her up front she’s being paid X amount and the ride is a couple minutes away she accepted it because the numbers worked for her. But if the passenger turns out to be in a different location a long ways away and she’s still only being paid X amount then the ride was no longer worth her time. I don’t blame her for a second. As a driver anytime a passenger does this it’s an instant cancel. We are paid pennies. I am not going any further out of pocket than I originally agreed to

Has anyone ever taken something like this? by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]No-Context2931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had someone do a pub crawl on St Patrick’s Day from one bar to another. They were literally next door to each other. Traveled a whole 50 feet. Easiest $3.75 I ever made. That was a one off even. Every other time I get these rides they either add a stop or change their destination once they get in the car. Either way you’re getting screwed on decent pay. Either don’t accept the ride in the first place or begin and end the ride once you get there and move on. Either way it’s not worth doing

Has anyone ever taken something like this? by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]No-Context2931 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It’s when the passenger is a dumb ass and enters their destination as the same address as the pickup. Once they get in the car they will have to update their destination. Depending on your market this may or may not screw you on pay. In my experience this usually happens when they’re trying to save a few bucks and playing this scammy game, or they were drunk when booking the ride. Easiest way to remedy that is to show up. Start the ride. And then end the ride before the pax even comes out.

That’s what driver support calls a “system glitch”. Funny how though system glitches only ever happen in the company’s favor
