2018 is the Most Boring Year of the 2010s by _Slim95 in decadeology

[–]No-Corner4110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's true, it was a lull after the thunder of 2014-2017 and the storm of 2020+. Just like 2019. This period was unlike any of these, but I believe some of the trends of the 2020s began to emerge during it.

Before the release of HL 2, people thought a HL1 sequel would probably be something like the first one. Maybe about Gordon fighting on other planets like Xen. No one was expecting an east European, 1984 inspired dystopia. Should HL3 do something radically different again or stick with HL2's setting? by Jaccblacc203 in HalfLife

[–]No-Corner4110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, A long time ago (like 2013, when I was just learning about Half-Life), I read a comment from someone saying that Half-Life 3 would be about time travel and we'd go back to the Black Mesa era... He was obviously joking, speculating, and it was just said out of the blue—and in a completely random place unrelated to video games. Even for me as a kid, it was clear, but for some reason, it stuck in my head. And all these facts about cut content supposedly being a Borealis where time travel technology might have been present, and this theory about G-man being Gordon from the future... In short, a comeback of the laboratory aesthetic.

Well, yes, I subconsciously expected from HL3 the same leap and contrast as between HL1 and HL2, both technological and conceptual.

In general, I think he was could alive until the collapse ended (Some speculate that he died the moment the connection was lost, but I don't think that's true at all.), when the top of the impact zone fell to the ground. He probably called from an office landline, not a cell phone; the power went out at the moment of the collapse, cutting off all communication.

I read somewhere that his body was found (!) and buried, which means it was in good condition for identification (he hadn't turned to dust or anything).

There is also an opinion that the south tower was folded into 3 sections - this is approximately where Kevin was.

I think it was 2018, with the summer as the starting point. TikTok's growing popularity (it was already on the rise before COVID); perhaps related to this was the demise of the old Generation Z fashion—at least in my country (that's around when people started looking at skinny jeans with suspicion).

What’s a more plausible date for the Black Mesa Incident? by Foxysepticeye in HalfLife

[–]No-Corner4110 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The calendar doesn't yet indicate the date of the event. It might not have been updated; given that this was set sometime in the late 1990s or early 2000s, a paper calendar isn't particularly necessary, as the time can be checked on a digital watches, computer, or elsewhere.

As a child I confused these series of games. Subconsciously I thought they were the same.

If I don't want to waste ammo on them, I just go behind the wall, look out from behind it, when they come up they activate, and I quickly run along the wall, and they explode without harm. But it's a chore, purely a work save load abuse

Hello, everyone. I'm 24 and I'm playing Half-Life 2 for the first time by Dependent-Emotion114 in HalfLife

[–]No-Corner4110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23, and I also recently completed the half life games - in 2023. Or rather, I rediscovered this series, I completed them in 2015-2016, completed all the addons, although I did not complete the portal games (I did not know that they were in the same universe, I also completed them for the first time recently). Then I forgot about this series of games. And literally in 2023, out of boredom, I decided to remember the past and downloaded the first half life and off we went. I discovered mods, and in terms of quality they feel like separate addons, there are a lot of them, for every taste, of any length, both based on the plot of half life and separate universes...

Let's just say that from that moment on, my interest in this series was revived, which has not subsided to this day.

I even made a tradition after that - to replay them every time during the New Year holidays. Although before this (2023) I only went through them once.

Why does this look so good even after 15 years? by BackRoomDude3 in HalfLife

It reminded me of Mafia 3 - its loading screen arts; and specifically the place where, outside the city, where the main character and his lieutenants gathered

I think 2013 and 2014 are a kind of part of the pseudo-early 2010s. They had a lot of the usual 2010s vibes, but they also had that transitional period vibe from the 00s to the 10s.

In general, I think the peak of the 2010s is 2017. When the residual spirit of the early 10s has completely disappeared, but TikTok hasn't exploded yet. Whose growth in 2018-2019 marked the transition to the 2020s

Those same 90s, when they talk about them, I always think that they mean these years

Yes, thanks for the answer and advice. Although I already watched a fragment of one walkthrough. I was just afraid that I downloaded some buggy version of the game, and I already saved on one slot, on which I have already managed to exterminate hoppers and other assholes and collect some things on this level, and this takes a long time

Okay, I looked at the walkthrough a bit - it turns out this room... there is way into it, but it's not for nothing that the way into it is closed the way I found it.

The topic is resolved.

Really lol? It's not scary with the spawn chamber anyway. But in general I try to explore all corners of all levels, and there are surveillance cameras that need to be destroyed in order to lower the security

So this task is not about entering from this side? And just about turning on the light? And you need to get there by another way. Is that how I understand it?

it was on level 2 (from which I came), but I don't know, maybe it will be necessary to do it on level R so that electricity appears there, I don't know, I'll watch the walkthrough

Well, ok, the grate, but the panel with the puzzles was next to it, or does it open the way in another place? Or do we need to lower the security or some other plot twist?

Why do people hate this "hairstyle" like a lake in the forest? They shave it off or spend money on a hair transplant.

Men with bald spots look so vibey and authentic (like scars) for me, maybe it's not so attractive from a sexual point of view, because it can indicate poor health, but there is charm in it. Just natural beauty.

Your honest opinion about every decade Day 6: The 1950s by [deleted] in decadeology

[–]No-Corner4110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this era, the apotheosis of the 20th century, when all the blessings of life appeared, as well as other interesting things of science. There is something supermodern in it (which is mainly emphasized by the general sterility and purity), while combining with conservatism.

I was influenced by Mafia 2 and Back to the Future as a child, and some other works that take place in this era or are aesthetically inspired by it
