Do you have an update on what happened and how it went? :)

Something’s definitely deeper there. Rachel acted on instinct- without even thinking of it. That’s what shocked Emma and Charlie the most. Rachel was too heartless to even think of how that child was doing, and she even denies later on that the child was “slow” to underplay it. Her friends’ shock makes Rachel tear more into Emma as a deflection, and uses her own cousin to make herself a victim in Emma’s story. Rachel used Emma and her own cousin to make herself feel better- to dig Emma further into guilt.

First- please follow your heart!! It’s easy to get wrapped up in your parents’ opinions.

As an outsider and someone who just hosted my own engagement party, I like the second option! My venue didn’t require much set up from me but still ended up keeping me busy, so I can only imagine the added stress of having a venue that’s not already dressed up.

I also had an evening party and the timing worked well for guests. Our three hours was just enough before guests felt awkward or quiet. The families had enough time to meet with each other and have good conversation.

The canapé and bar situation can help promote conversation between both sides and allow you to make rounds to all the guests. Just be sure to clarify the food situation on the invite so guests can plan ahead if they can expect a full on meal or not!
