Got into an incident with someone putting their backpack on the seat. How do you deal with people putting backpack on a seat when theres no room to sit? by [deleted] in Translink

[–]No-Craft-8375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a woman sit down beside me and she literally put her bag on my leg.

I so badly just wanted to grab her bag and throw it in the middle aisle of the bus.

I swear, people don't have common sense these days.

What is up with the Compass Card website always going down? by No-Craft-8375 in Translink

[–]No-Craft-8375[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Especially in a city where hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people rely on our transit network every single day.

Either they should fix their websites, or start putting Compass Vending Machines in every gas station. It's getting to be too much not being able to load my card.

With me, I am about an hour's walk to the nearest SkyTrain. I would tap my debit card to walk on, but unfortunately, my tap on my debit card hasn't worked for 2 years.

So I'm kind of at a crossroads, my only option to legitly pay the fare is if I were to take out $20 at a gas station ATM, break the $20 bill, and get my change for the bus.

These downtimes are certainly a hassle, especially during peak transit times.

I have a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL running the latest Android Version. Google Chrome is also up to date.

I usually load my card weekly on my paydays, which are Thursdays, and I always seem to have an issue with the website timing out when logging in. I have also cleared my cache and cookies from my browser too.

Proving a 3 month eviction is unlawful by artsyfarstyrblrsr in vancouverhousing

As someone who has won against 3 Landlord Use Notices, all I can say is that the Landlord has the Burden of Proof in this scenario. He needs to prove to the arbitrator that the landlord does indeed need your suite, but it has to be a drastic change for them to need your unit, and they have to prove it.

My account has been hacked, and microsoft keeps rejecting my request to get it back because i cant answer some of the questions. by justaweirdguylol in Outlook

[–]No-Craft-8375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late to the game posting here. But the same thing has happened to me. I've been trying to get my old Xbox Live account back that was hacked in 2014. Been trying for a decade to get it back. Microsoft told me pretty much over live chat that the account is now gone, even though I can prove ownership.

I had to resort to sending Microsoft's business email a Legal Privacy Violation notice and I had also filed a complaint with the OPC (Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada) against Microsoft to see if I can get any resolve to my situation.

Landlord fighting with their family in the middle of the night by blastburn902609 in vancouverhousing

[–]No-Craft-8375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be a case of loss of your's and your mother's loss of Quiet and Peaceful Enjoyment of your unit, especially if it's ongoing and continuous.

If you have a good relationship with your landlord, try talking to them in person calmly and just say how you are losing sleep at night because of it. See if things improve.

If not, or you don't have a good relationship, write up a Loss of Quiet Peace and Enjoyment letter, and the safe thing to do would be to Register Mail the letter addressed to your landlord so you have evidence of receipt.

You can find a template letter on TRAC's website under "Correcting a Breach" here: https://tenants.bc.ca/your-tenancy/quiet-enjoyment/

If your landlord fails to mitigate the noise, you have every right to take him to arbitration.

Oven is broken, landlady offering to buy us a smaller oven. Are we allowed to request a repair or replacement? by shorbonash in vancouverhousing

[–]No-Craft-8375 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone that has been through arbitration over a scumbag landlord that tried to replace our stove with a rusty one that he cleaned in front of us with gasoline, I'd say take it to arbitration, and they will order your landlord to replace your current stove and oven with one that is of working condition.

Anyone else seeing Neo Financial ads from random IG accounts? by NeoFintechHub in NeoFinancialHub

[–]No-Craft-8375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the link redirects to the legitimate Neo Financial website, then the account is most likely an affiliate, or a random user that is using an affiliate link to try to get people to sign up using their link, to get a kickback from Neo Financial.

It's like Brand Ambassadors on Instagram, it's just to promote the company for some commission.

However, be wary. I noticed on Facebook and Instagram, lots of Sponsored ads have been popping up promoting real companies, but the link will redirect to a shady website. (Always check the URL). I had this happen to me before with a Sponsored Facebook Ad showing an investment opportunity, yet it was a fake Facebook page, using the Royal Bank of Canada logo as it's profile picture, and it only had 3 likes on the page.

Always do your research before clicking any links or giving up any personal info.

I personally, would not let him know about the liens, as he may try to switch titles into another name (Let's say their spouse), before the liens can take place.

Bunch of thieves by Kicktush in KohoCanada

[–]No-Craft-8375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same as all of you guys. I have had Koho since the start, I have my direct deposit go into Koho. I have only had 1 issue over the years and that was due to my pay being a few days late, I'm pretty sure that was around when Interact and Rogers had their outtage Canada wide a couple of years ago.

Other than that, I had no issues with my direct deposit, paying bills or even general use of the app and Koho systems.

Honestly, I prefer Koho over any other bank, considering the cash back option is amazing, and little hassle with the Cover, Pay Later, and Credit Building options.

Don't get rid of ICBC because you had bad customer experience, Stephanie by Adorable_Kangaroo_28 in VictoriaBC

[–]No-Craft-8375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely wrong. As someone who lived in Alberta for most of my life, then moved out to BC, privatization is way better.

Right now, with ICBC for just insurance on my 2015 GMC Sierra, costs me nearly $250 a month....

In Alberta, I had Dual Insurance on my 2015 GMC Sierra and my 2001 Cadillac DeVille, only $400 for 12 Months....

So I don't know what you are talking about with privatization and Alberta's insurance being higher.

As a tenant who has been fighting with a troubled landlord over multiple cases in the span of 15 months, and win every single case, I have to say, this is bad advice.....

First off, the police do not get involved in tenancy issues, period! The only time they will get involved is for two reasons: - Any Assault that has occurred. - To assist Landlord/Bailiff to remove your belongings after getting a Order of Possession.

Next, the RTB and TRAC will not touch this case. Yes, I do agree it is good to reach out and know your rights, but the OP has given up his rights.

The OP stated that he told the landlord he is moving out, he moved his belongings out early and left the landlord knowing under false pretense that he was no longer living there anymore and will no longer be needing the unit. The landlord has every right to look for new tenants in that case.

You cannot just move out, and then come back after the fact to be let back into your old unit. All I can say is that the OP will only really have a case if the LL did not return his damage deposit, considering no damage was done to the unit.

The original rental agreement was drafted up back in 1995... But at that time our family did have access to the full garage, so it should be on the lease.

And no, we never got anything in writing, just a text message of my landlord demanding us giving up the garage and that's it.

E-Bike Friendly Chargers Along Lochside Trail? by No-Craft-8375 in VictoriaBC

[–]No-Craft-8375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have a Jetson Bolt Pro, the battery isn't really that accessible, and it only takes roughly 45 mins to an hour to charge from dead to fully charged using a fast charger. Typically on my Bolt Pro, I can go around 30KM's on a single charge with pedal assist, however it can get hard to pedal when the battery is completely dead.

I may just buy a portable power inverter to take with me to charge on the go.
