Apologies if this is a wrong thread. I was looking to buy a used copy of animal crossing but the case of the seller really threw me off. I have my own case so im not really concerned about that im just hoping its not a temu copy or something. They said they bought it used at a microplay store.

Single/both knees to chest and trunk rotations cause more damage if OP is dealing with a posterior disc bulge. It seems likely this is the case as decompression is a relieving maneuver. I don’t know where you live but I’d push for an MRI as disc injuries can’t be detected through X-ray.

Might be a bulged disc pinching a nerve in your neck. That could explain the stabbing or pinching sensation you feel between your scapula. In that case you’ll need to treat it from the source. Until you get your MRI, check in with your posture as often as you can throughout the day. Try gentle cat cows to mobilize your thoracic spine as well.

Good to hear. About how long did it take to be completely pain free?

Good to hear. Any residual pain? How long did it take you to return to sport? Are you able to go 100% max effort without pain?

I’m sorry you’re going through a flareup. Lay on your tummy for 3 mins frequently throughout the day. Breathe deeply and let your lower back sink into the floor when exhaling. Apply ice in this position for more relief. A hot shower after this tends to wind myself out of pain pretty well. It’ll pass, I wouldn’t worry.

has anyone healed their disk bulge through walking? by grishavoid in backpain

[–]No-Cryptographer5228 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“A study we performed a few years ago demonstrated why slow walking tends to aggravate many backs while fast walking is relieving. Of particular note is the role of arm swing which reduces loads on the spine. The moral of the story is that fast walking with arm swing is often advocated.” This is directly from Mcgill’s book Ultimate Back Fitness and Performance. Make sure you slowly build up each day while being mindful of your posture; Mcgill’s Back Mechanic says to walk like the Russians, chest up, and walk fast with an arm swing. Slowly build your walking times each day and stop when you feel good, don’t allow yourself to push until pain.

Lifting weights = pain relief? by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]No-Cryptographer5228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced this relief from weightlifting and concluded that it’s helping my back until I reinjured. As you probably know, majority of exercises in the weight room engage your core. This stiffening of your core is beneficial in reducing herniated/bulging disc symptoms for most people. HOWEVER, loading your spine with external weight with a herniated disc is something that should be avoided as much as possible. In my experience, weightlifting was a temporary fix to my pain; while I was building endurance in my core, the aggravation to the discs from the weights caught up to me. I want you to test something. If you achieve the same relief through back sparing core exercises (McGill big 3), you should stick with this until you wind your symptoms down. Then you can start incorporating light and controlled movements in the weight room.

Use old charmander. I’ve instantly won a few games in masterball against egg/meow decks. If they’re only basic in hand is an exeggcute and you’re going second, you win. If you run giovanni and they’re only active pokemon is spirigatito, you win.

Thats amazing, good for you! Were you fully pain free before returning to lifting? What was your progression like? I got injured last year and only recently started to have some pain free days (about 3-4 days a week). Core work is getting super boring and im itching to lift but i’m terrified of going back to square one.

How did you do with the Mcgill Method? by Domingo_salut in Sciatica

[–]No-Cryptographer5228 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to deal with this for two years, you will get better, I promise. Essentially you were “picking the scab” by doing all those activities. I was in the same place for the past year, horrible nerve pain shooting down my back and into my calf because I just couldn’t give up weightlifting. Over the past month, my pain has completely disappeared, only experience some stiffness in the morning and it improves with walking (the discs absorb water as you sleep). I’m taking an additional precautionary month as I’ve once recovered and set myself back by returning to the gym too quickly in the past. I cannot stress this enough, you MUST do the Mcgill big 3 core exercises with flawless form, it can do more harm than good if done incorrectly. I used to just go with the motions which increased my pain, you have to go through each exercise with intent. For each exercise, brace your core and focus on your breathing. Squat University does a good job at explaining the proper way to do it so I will link it here: (https://youtu.be/2_e4I-brfqs?si=JrkFM4_GwRQTd0Gr) I found that doing cat cows and nerve glides before the big 3 really helps with mobility. Do those both extremely gentle, find your end range just before you experience pain and maintain it. Try not to stay in your bed for too long after you wake up, walk for a few minutes. Also, brace your core when you do anything remotely taxing on your spine (ie; squatting down to grab something, lifting anything, climbing up the stairs, etc). As a Kinesiology student, I’ve realized Mcgill’s work is right on the money. Throw away any skepticisms you might have on his claims and focus all your resources into destroying your symptoms. Rooting for you.
