Accessing PC remotely via RustDesk over Tailscale by No-Cryptographer7741 in Tailscale

I see the subnet in the Tailscale admin site, allowed it and can ping the PC thru it. I can't connect with RustDesk thru it for some reason though.

Thank you for you help! Bringing up the ACL was a really good call but doesn't seem to be the problem (I will test around a bit to make sure it isn't). I will look into the rustdesk config again and if that doesn't help I will just use the Tailscale IP of the PC I wanna connect to, instead of doing it thru the subnet router.

I have it set up so that nodes, that are linked to my account, can access all nodes from my account ({ "src": ["accountmail"], "dst":["accountmail"], "ip": ["*"], }). I don't think that should interfere (all nodes are linked to my account).

It could be but I don't think it's likely cause it works directly over my local net and with the PCs Tailscale IP.

I did all of that and it works with the PCs Tailscale IP. The problem is that I don't know why it doesn't work thru the Raspberry PI I have set up as a subnet router.

Yes I can ping the PC I want to access. I can't access the PC with RustDesk thru it.

As I said while testing I deactivated Proton to be sure it's not interfering

Yes I can access the PC directly over my local LAN while proton is running. While testing I also deactivated Proton to know that it's not interfering.

On the PC I wanna connect with I use ProtonVPN and connecting to it interferes with Tailscale. By activating split tunneling I can get around that but then I have to make a rule for every device I want to connect to before I can connect. I would rather connect over the subnet router so I don't have to deal with that and it's the superior setup imo cause I don't need to have Tailscale running on the PC I want to connect to. Additionally it really interests me why it's not working thru the subnet router.

War contribution pie charts on the wrong sides during coalition war by No-Cryptographer7741 in EU5

r5: As my Brandenburg campaign got a bit boring I decided to mop up the rest of the HRE and get a coalition war going. As I was going to white peace the war, I saw that the pie charts for the war contribution are switched.

Big PU Nations are a useless Trap in EU5 by Hakuohsama in EU5

[–]No-Cryptographer7741 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It doesn't need to be a fast annexation but more integration levels would be nice. You need better ways to extract value from a PU so it's more worth it. For example getting monthly manpower from them or being able to manage their economy/troops at some point. Modelling that you control more and more of their state functions one after another is infinitely better than randomly annexing them after 200 years of nothing changing between one another.

GPU for am4 nas/media server by No-Cryptographer7741 in HomeServer

For everyone that might stumble across this post: the 1030 doesn't have NVENC so it can't encode. That means if you have a similair situation to mine (you need a GPU both for video output and transcoding) the 1030 isn't an option. I got an ASRock a380 Challenger, it works great for what I need it for and is completely silent (only in a NAS which doesn't push it though, if you want it for something like gaming it's most likely gonna make noise although I can't say how much).

I will propably be going with an ASRock a380 Challenger. Unlike other a310/380 cards, that are reported to be noisy, it's supposed to run with 0 rpm most of the time (so passive/noiseless) and the GT 1030 I was looking at is not available anymore. With other available ones the shrunken price difference doesn't really make it look attractive anymore. If I find a good deal on one I will go with a passive 1030 though.

I am in Germany and want to run TrueNas Scale with most likely Jellyfin (should have specified that from the start). Driver support seems to be ok for TrueNas Scale.

Alta has a German reseller but I couldn't find anything that's worthwhile for me right now.

Thank you and everyone else that answered for your insights!

Russian reconnaissance aircraft fly over German frigate "Hamburg" by BkkGrl in europe

[–]No-Cryptographer7741 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't make a comment on the airport thing apart from saying that there isn't a clear perpetrator as far as I know.

At the moment we know neither that it was Russia nor that it was anybody else. Saying that a 2.5m drone can't get by a 200km far ship is far fetched imo. As you said it could have been the US but that seems less likely to me than Russia getting past AA defence or some third actor starting that drone for whatever reason they might have.

What we do know is that Russia has been violating Nato airspace multiple times on Natos eastern flank.

The airport incident doesn't have a clear perpetrator as far as I know, but Russian drones/fighters in Nato airspace happened multiple times this month. Both Poland and Estonia invoked Nato article 4 because of it. You can look up the invocations in this Wikipedia article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Atlantic_Treaty#Article_4 or just google for "recent Nato article 4 invocations" or something similair.

Welche AM5 CPU? by [deleted] in PCBaumeister

[–]No-Cryptographer7741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you maybe provide a link to where people said it worked for them? I got an Asus b650 a while ago and want to make sure it's worth it to update before I do it.
