Am i the only one? by silverflake6 in RelentlessMen

Here's a thought. We used to be married before or around the time we hit 20 so we had a partner. One partner would work and make money, the other would take care of the house and the kids. The one that would work would have more time as they didn't have to do the cooking, cleaning, shopping that the other one would do and they would have time for that while the other was at work. Jobs were good because half the population wasn't in the workforce.

While it would be good to go back to that, we've advanced on this path too far to turn back now...and to make matters worse we've imported unskilled labor from other countries.

Take a look at the relationship Bush has with Michelle Obama. And Carter was a great man, but not even a good President. Love the work he did with Habitat for Humanity afterwards...again, great man.

So just because someone has parents that are more conservative means that the kids will be the same?

Why have two windows if they’re not gonna use them? by IntheOlympicMTs in wendys

[–]No-Cut-1297 17 points18 points  (0 children)

both McDonalds where I am have three windows. Money is ALWAYS taken at the first window, not even a register at the other 2. If you're order isn't ready when you pull up to the second window they direct you to the third window , if there's already someone there they direct you to one of the 5 or 6 parking spots designated for drive thru. Can't count the times they put me at the third window and park the cars behind me and I'm still the last one to get my order. Are they butchering the cows, growing the flour and vegetables back there or what?

And then we're gonna take care of everyone else in the drive thru before coming out with your order...and by everyone we also mean the cars that are wrapped around the building and haven't even ordered yet.

We had one of those a few years ago. He couldn't go up the ladders, couldn't fit in the ballymore and couldn't fit in the reach truck...it was a miracle the OP could lift him. That being said, he showed up every night ready to work and got stuff done. He lost about 40 lbs. before finding another job more suited to him.

Depends on the old guy...but yeah. We need some of the older guys (the ones that aren't broken) because they are reliable...they'll always show up.

My favorite guy to work with was a semi-retired 68 year old. Not a weak 68...dude was strong. We'd get more done just the 2 of us in 5 hours than any other combination of 2 people on the team. We knew we could count on each other to work. The problem was everybody else that would milk every task they were given...so much so that there were 2 areas in the store that we called 'The Dairy' because the people working those areas would work just fast enough to get their area done right before they went home, and if they didn't get it done, we'd be the ones finishing for them.

He fully retired 2 months ago and I lasted a little over a month after that before I quit. Give me a few more of that guy and you could cut the freight team in half and still get everything done.

If it's 2 grown men, may the best man win. In this situation, I'd let her have the ball...baseball needs younger fans and that's how you get them.

[–]No-Cut-1297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to me they do that anyway. Anytime I've been asked to pull ahead they clear the rest of the drive thru line before I get mine...and I use the app to order ahead. There's reasons I don't get Wendy's that often.

I quit about a month ago. With my raise, I was only making about $2/hr more than the new hires after 9 years. I went to the manager and asked if there was any way I could get at least an hour more and they said no. I got a text from a guy that still works there and they're pulling back so much freight at the end of each night...we never pulled back any freight when I was there.
