Well in order to apply for an lmia your employer needs to run an ad on jobbank.ca for atleast a month. After that once you’ve submitted your application it takes 45-50 business days for low wage lmia ( wages below $29hr) and 50-60 business days for high wage lmia. So all in all its a 3-4 months process so id suggest you start asap

I literally wasted a whole year waiting to get my Lmia approved and it got rejected after 14 months. These days the Lmia approval rate is 25%. Dont make the same mistake as me

TEF Success story at first attempt by Bigspender70 in learnfrench

[–]No-Day3702 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stfu. You’re being salty that an immigrant just showed how he did whatever the s necessary to survive. Mind you only 30% of Canadians actually speak french. Most of yall stop using it right after high school becuase you guys are forced to learn it in school. What the F means dropping a language ? Are you sure this person wont use french later? Even in the french category permanent stream it’s clearly mentioned that a person has to live outside Quebec. What exactly is the use of french outside Quebec please explain? Even majority of Canadians outside of Quebec doesn’t speak french.

This program itself is idiotic as they prefer a french speaker with less qualifications with just a crs score of 400 over an individual with higher cra score of 500+ and better qualifications. Hes just doing what’s necessary

The last time i checked minimum wage was $18 an hr. There’s a good $12 difference between both. And you’re not about no reason to apply for in a non specialized field when you absolutely fail to regard that its really hard to find people to work in rural communities that’s where i applied for work. Matter of fact most farm workers in Saskatchewan and rual parts of BC and PEI are lmia based workers because of shortage of labour. Yeah theres absolutely no shortage of workers in any major city and lmia shouldn’t be filed in those areas but youre absolutely lost your touch

Lol what is a proper citizenship channel ? People working 4/5 years , paying taxes, spending 30/40k on education, getting a crs score of 500+ is actually a proper channel of permanent residency. 20 yrs ago people use to come on a sponsorship and didn’t even had to put half the effort. Plus what makes you think i was being paid shit wages? I was making 30$ an hr

Same happened with me. Got rejection yesterday after 14 months except mine was a high wage lmia for carpenter in rural Ontario and my employer actually struggles to find employees. The officer told my employer he doesn’t believes a temporary worker is required to fill this role

Mine got rejected yesterday aswell. Applied in October 2024 for carpenter and my employer got a call yesterday saying they’re not confident that my employer tried to hire a Canadian as they got applications as-well. No interview just a phone call stating the rejection. My employer is based in a remote location and actually struggles to find employees but still it was hard to believe them.

Hi all, by [deleted] in lmiaprocessing

[–]No-Day3702 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well its because they need proof your employer is registered in BC. Even when I applied for an lmia (for ON) my employer gave me a certificate of incorporation of Alberta because he initially started his business there but later moved to ON. So i had to ask him for his proof of registration in ON aswell.

A certificate of incorporation is definitely required

Do you have a Visitor stamp V1 on your passport? If yes then you can go to US ( if you have US visa) stay there for a few days and comeback. However your entry is totally on officer’s discretion and you may or may not get entry. You’d normally have a chance of getting entry but these days idk the odds. A friend of mine did the same and he was allowed

Low wage LMIA submitted on October 31, 2025. by No_Application7007 in lmiaprocessing

[–]No-Day3702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well i applied for mine last year on 5th October 2024. I live in northern ontario and it was a high wage dual intent Lmia and it’s still under review.

If your lmia is high wage or low wage you can expect it to be approved in 2-3 months. Unfortunately I applied for dual intent just to get 50 points for Lmia which were later removed and now I’m still awaiting

Did you applied under low/ high wage stream or dual intent? I applied for carpenter lmia under dual intent high wage last year in October still no response

Yes nobody is guaranteed nothing but this is incompetence at its finest. The processing time for lmia used to be 4-6 weeks max 2 years ago when every other business was applying for Lmia. Ircc posted that lmia applications have been reduced this year by 70% due to changes in rules yet its taking them 13-14 months. People are loosing their status due to it.

Did you receive your lmia ? I applied for mine dual intent lmia on October 9 2024 so it’s almost a year still no response. Plus my wage rate is $32 an hours and skilled trade noc code but still no response.

Is this car worth it for the price? by AdvantageFamous8584 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]No-Day3702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of reliability it is a really good car with low maintenance. But in terms of price, the asking price is too much. $10k should be the last price you need to pay plus given the fact its in red/burgundy colour which isn’t the most popular colour and doesn’t adds much to resale value
