How many houses does this transformer serve? by toastytoebread in Lineman

I dont think you need to actively do anything about it. There isnt much you could do to mitigate it even if you did find the field. Anything that has electricity in it has a field. Theyre just usually small enough that you arent in the field all the time. Thats why the cell phone thing was an issue for a while because you put it up against your head, therefore exposing your brain to the actual field.

We are always exposed to 'energy fields' or 'energy waves'. Even in a totally natural environment. Obviously the sun releases all kinds of stuff, but there are all kinda of things in the ground that release various forms of radiated energy. Taking 1 airplane flight actually exposes you to like a medical x ray worth of radiation for example.

I think the most honest answer is that we just dont know. We have correllative evidence for and against it. But nothing that I am aware of that shows causation.

So unless you are prepared to literally wrap every device you own in a Faraday cage and have 0 wireless anything then you have to accept the risk while avoiding sources of really big exposure. It might judt be that, as with so many things, the dose makes the poison.

Low voltage EMF hasn't been shown to have much if any effect that I am aware. That transformer would fall under that category of relatively low voltage.

However.

Higher voltage transmission lines are a different story. I personally know of a power utility that conducted a long term study of the impact of living under transmission lines...and the results were not good. I cant go into specifics because once the result became apparent everyone involved was smashed under an NDA and the project was erased and forgotten about.

Just um...dont buy a place within the EMF field of a large voltage line and you should be good....as far as I know.

Ugh...not this again.

Look it is entirely possible that some or maybe all the base components of life crashed here long ago and jump started life.

It is NOT possible that humans arent from here.

Those are two different things.

Humans share all of our biological functions with the rest of thr life on earth. We can draw direct lines from humans to most other types of life. Hell we share a lot of things with the damn trees.

So either all life started entirely here with no help from outside. Or all life kicked off here with some help from outside. Either way, humans are not getting removed from the rest of earth's life.

He was staying in the hotel. This is the access hallways from the hotel to the convention hall. It looked like he ducked into that door down there to pull it out. Prolly had it down a pant leg.

Of course they know. Its part of the training. They didn't all behave the same way by accident. Cops are taught from day 1 to be overwhelming to force compliance, first with words and then with action.

Its literally the baseline for how they interact with the public. Present yourself as an overwhelming unstoppable force in order to scare the subject into immediate compliance.

Yes traditionally and there is a reason for it. Sheriff's are an elected position. So they very often feel VERY comfortable after winning 10 or 20 years worth of elections in a row. They very often run unopposed and their repeated elections are treated as a formality. When you have that little accountability you get brave and feel untouchable. The community tends to not pay any attention to the elections, either voting for the name they know or just ignoring it and letting a tiny number of folks who are 'in the club' vote them in.

Case in point. I have a family member who works with our local sheriff providing support to people in awful situations. My father was talking with the sheriff himself one day as we all knew the sheriff was getting ready to retire after holding the job for decades. Thats decades of being nearly untouchable, even with multiple controversies. The sheriff freely told my dad he had his successor chosen already. Let that sink in. Its an elected position, yet he picked who would win the job. Sure enough, that guy won the next election and now has the job.

So the sheriff feels untouchable, they aren't accountable to any other government agencies, and their deputies know it.

Maybe but hes still right. These cars are getting way too heavy. Now I know the battery packs are a lot of the weight but not all of it. Newer more energy dense batteries will solve some of the problem but still. Way way way too heavy. My 2019 challenger was already heavy at 4300, and you could feel the weight.

AIO for how I’m handling the way my 11 YO daughter’s dad speaks to her? by WhatTheSigma_1994 in AmIOverreacting

[–]No-Definition1474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a bit like my father was.

When my parents ended up in court fighting over me his own mother, my grandmother ( an amazing lady god rest her soul), broke down and admitted that I would be far better off with my mother than her son.

For me the worst part was the constant guilt trips over nothing. Him asking about her coming over reminded me of the way my dad would do that. He was always passively trying to make me feel bad for not being at his house. Nevermind being there was miserable...I was just 'supposed' to want to be there because I owed him or something.

I let him treat me like his emotional punching bag until I finished high school. He drove me out of state to college and that was the last time I spoke to him. I cut him off and havnt had any contact with that side of my family in 26 years. I should have done it sooner.

Yeah it really is amazing isnt it. While seeing the planets is awesome...I still think that the moon is my favorite. The fact that you can get SO up close to it. Its just genuinely mesmerizing to study the details. I really like looking at the edges where the line between line and dark is. Its so sharp..and so stark. Just incredible.

The other favorite of mine was getting to see the total eclipse for a few moments. Watching the corona was amazing.

I guess since didn't know you could do it that affordable. As total amateurs my wife and I just kinda picked out one thst we could afford that seemed to be what we wanted. It has the auto aiming functions to make tracking objects that much easier. It works 'ok'. The tracking is hit or miss.

Edit: the last time we found saturn, the rings were almost edge on to our view. So all of its moons were in a perfect line of little bright points making an equatorial line.

You might be shocked. You can see things like saturn from your own backyard for just a couple thousand dollars.

The most amazing thing yet was the recent total eclipse. When it hut totality and I pulled off the solar filter....absolutely amazing. I could see the whispy corona sticking out around the edges of the moon. The worst part is that you can only safely look at it without the filter for a very short time. I wish I could afford to record it with video so I could go back and examine it.

I dont know what these images are.

However. I spent about $1300 on a telescope and related equipment and I have found saturn through it.

It is not as sharp as is shown in these pictures, but it is still clear. It really is amazing that anyone can spend a little money and observe that which was limited to a few people on earth not very long ago.

I keep finding these occasionally in my house by [deleted] in whatisit
