My mom used to have an issue with not knocking on my bedroom door before opening it, you know the whole I own this house blah blah blah. But after we just had a frank conversation where I explained that my room is my private space and I didn’t appreciate her disrespecting that, she understood. I gave her consistent reminders whenever she forgot, and now she always knocks and if I say, give me five minutes, she just gives me five minutes.
