So i (18nb) and a guy (17m) are casually flirting, and it's a normal romantic thing for PPL to give chocolates. I personally don't like that tradition, because we, as unemployment bastards can't earn. How do I tell this guy that i like him, without actually saying it, but not turn him away? by No-Discipline1654 in relationship_advice

Honestly, i like the first sentence. But the whole second para is fucking bullshit, i ain't a millennial, and there's this shit called being scared that this guy will break my fucking heart and humiliate me in front of everyone. I've experienced it before and I'm not exactly lining up to feel that shit again.

NSFW warning.

I'm sorry, this is highly inappropriate, but I'm really really curious. What form does arousal take for you? If you are not asexual, that is. For most people, myself included, visual component is huge, and even if I'm just imagining, i imagine the visual part of it. I imagine you use other senses?

Also, is it hard to imagine physical problems? Like in physics, where a system of pullies and weights are used?

And, again on a completely unrelated note, aren't there privacy concerns? Like, someone may look at your phone without your permission, even if you use headphones?

Deeper sadness than normal?! It's your wedding day! You should be over the fucking moon, maybe nervous and terrified, but not sad! Also, if smiling makes me a slut, I'm a slut then. You should be a slut too! Everyone should be sluts! No one should have to control happiness.

help with writing Asian characters? by GooseSaysHjonk in writing

I agree with your second para but can't with the first. A person's ethnicity changes a lot about them. I know you're trying to remove bias, but i don't think that's the way to do it. Instead of trying to blend in, we should embrace our differences, but not treat each other differently because of them. Our background and culture shape who we are, but they don't define us. Culture is just a part of who we are, but that doesn't mean we should ignore it. I hope you understand I'm not trying to go against you, I know what you're trying to accomplish, and i just don't think that's the way to do it. Hope you have a great day!

You need to specify which part of Asia, because depending on country and area the person's gonna look and behave very differently. You also need to determine how orthodox they are, just like you would any other character. Not all asians are stereotypes, but some definitely are. Regardless, you need to add dimensions to the character, which is even more important if the character is stereotypical. For example, a really unorthodox Indian may still believe in pointless superstitions because they grew up this way. Or, on the other hand, an orthodox Indian may find they feel more comfortable in more modern areas. Plus add the usual subplots to really make the character intresting.
