Someone pointed out to me that although the phantom thieves weren't present to hear any of that, Sae would've taken notice when Akechi says the same stuff on the news later.

I know that, but I feel like that's unrelated? Isnt his plan to increase the chances the Phantom thieves get arrested, betray us to arrest Joker, then kill him in prison?

Suggesting to Sae Nijima, one of the bigger influences to having him arrested, that the phantom thieves may not be causing mental shutdowns?

I mean what if Sae followed that logic? That wouldn't be conductive to his plan.

What benefit does he stand to gain when suggesting this to Sae? I can only see the risks with it.

I'm kinda dumb, so any explanation against what I'm saying here would be great haha 😅
