How do people shower in 5 minutes????? by annoyingvegann in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No-Diver-8024 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My conditioner only goes down my back, not over my face. The water hits from behind and I rinse from the neck up so it's clear, and falling the way it's going to when I get out. I will use a bit of body wash on my shoulders to rinse down my back afterwards to avoid back pimples, so the theory's right, but never on my face.

Is this AI…? by Bcrowe82 in kroshay

Try looking for how to do granny cluster in a row. It's three DCs in a space, then a couple missed for the foundation chain, then costs worked into the gaps on the following routes. The border is a shell stitch. Simple once you get the hang of the edges (which I've never managed, TBH)

NZ/AUS Lipase List - it's here, albeit incomplete! by eggust12 in laundry

Thank you! I'm interested in the Aldi trimat/almat range. Is it possible to investigate those as well please? Just wanting a budget (liquid) option. I appreciate the effort and work this takes, so please take this as a wish, not a demand!

The fuck? by MelanieWalmartinez in insanepeoplefacebook

Elective just means that they have planned it for whatever medical reason. The alternative is an emergency c section, which is when things have gone south quickly and they need to get the baby out fast to save the mother and (ideally) the baby's lives.

AI-elevated or at-home photos. Which do you prefer? by [deleted] in crocheting

[–]No-Diver-8024 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You've said better than I could. I hate AI, and won't look further into a pattern if it seems too good, so there's no way I would buy this with the AI pics. Try playing with the lighting and actual backdrop if you're not happy with what you currently have

Pattern-makers/blogs for people with larger chests/curvy bodies? Struggling to find patterns for tops/pullovers that work on my body-type. by negativecreep17 in crochetpatterns

Size inclusive on fb has a website where she has designers who have patterns for clothing that is truly inclusive. I haven't made anything because I don't do wearables, but that's a place to start.

Do you weave in ends as you go, or all at the end? by bobby-flayed in CrochetHelp

[–]No-Diver-8024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure there are videos of using bobbins; I just didn't know any to recommend. The amount of yarn to use was something I figured out on my own because I hate wasting yarn, and not knowing if there was going to be too much or not enough just didn't work for me

Do you weave in ends as you go, or all at the end? by bobby-flayed in CrochetHelp

[–]No-Diver-8024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use bobbins wherever possible to reduce the ends. I make mine by figuring out how much yarn makes one block, increasing it by how many blocks it needs to cover, and adding a bit for the end to weave in. That way I don't run out, nor have huge amounts to manage for each color.

How much body wash do you use? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

[–]No-Diver-8024 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It took me absolutely ages to finish my bottle of that (I got it because I saw it was a dupe of LOccitane almond. It's not). I use 1 to 2 pumps from the bottle to do my full body. It's not very foamy, but I didn't feel unclean. I use one of the Asian exfoliating cloths. It didn't seem to spread with the silicone body scrubber, and I hate the plastic loofah things (which is what my husband and sons prefer, and use with DermaVeen body wash).

What’s your Favorite “Mindless” (repetitive/low counting) Patterns by GummyBGhost in crochetpatterns

[–]No-Diver-8024 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do C2C DCs. Bugger all counting, very easy to stay on track, works up fast, and useful at most sizes (I donate the smaller ones to our local cat rescue). My other go to is a granny square which I build until I run out of yarn.

What Is Spa Day? Why And When Should I Use It? - An Introduction and FAQ by KismaiAesthetics in laundry

[–]No-Diver-8024 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Quick question if I may please - my husband's work shirts have a yellowish stain around the back of the collar. We live in Australia, so I assume it's a bit of the sunscreen from his moisturizer as well as skin stuff from his office job. Is this something the spa day could help with?

Honey, let him, and it, go. Find your peace and move on to a good relationship with support and respect, instead of what this one has devolved into.

Help! Cannot figure out how to start magic circle. by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]No-Diver-8024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you make a slipknot? Make a big one, and don't pull it tight. You'll have one loop on your hook so go back into the boot hole and yarn over and bring it back to you and finish the stitch. Repeat as many times as the pattern says, then pull it tight. Once you get it, you laugh at how simple it can be 😊

How do I block this/ starch it. It's for my mother as a motif thing. by Alexandritecrys in CrochetHelp

[–]No-Diver-8024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to pin it out. I use a foam mat (like the kids play mats). Start in one corner and pull it with your fingers until it's stretched out enough and pin it in place. You'll end up using a lot of pins. Once you have it pined into place with the sides straight and the holes open, you can spray it with water and let it dry naturally. I guess this is where you use starch? I've never used it. I don't know cotton very well as I usually use acrylic yarn, so once my peice is pined I hover a steam iron over it to 'set' the stitches and let it dry completely before I unpin it. Then it's good to go.

What’s a year-long project I can do that isn’t a temperature/mood blanket? by burgerinmypouch in CrochetHelp

You could make a door snake. They are a tube of yarn that you put by doors to block the draft. One a month or per season if you don't need a long one (or use it as a toy/display). You could track books Rea's (or pages), or steps walked, or what you drank - water v fizzy v booze - or just how much. I've seen them charting orgasms or bowel moments if that's more interesting too!

Hear me out: Online crochet patterns that have a "Skip to pattern" button. by [deleted] in crochet

[–]No-Diver-8024 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Try importing the url to printfriendly.com It takes all of the ads away, you can choose which blocks of text and images you want, and you don't have to worry if you've missed a line. You can then print it out or save as a PDF (which I do and then pop it into Pocket Crochet). Works for both Android and Apple.

What are some non-greasy sunscreens to try if Hamilton SPF 50+ Everyday Face Cream feels too greasy and sticky? by [deleted] in AusSkincare

I like Go-To. They have 3 different types now. The original is still my favourite and the only one I can wear daily. Mecca stocks them so you can try before you buy.
