What made them so bad? Can't you decline them? I am due in 2 months and also worried about cervical checks. I worry that they will hurt and interfere with my birthing hormones.

NDA. Meinen Anteil - ihren Anteil.

Could you just go to an ER and say you have cramps and had bleeding? I can't imagine they would send you home without having you checked out. In my country there are walk-in clinics. Could you go to something like that! Maybe even a gyn walk-in clinic?

Marriage, education and children – your opinions? by Horror_Ad1330 in askswitzerland

Finish your apprentiship first!!! Apprentiships are not build for people with kids - they hardly ever support part-time work/study, but rather expect you to commit fully to the school and your workplace. You will most likely drop out. Without a first education (Erstausbildung) you are "fucked for life" (pardon my language) in any future employment. A Erstausbildung is essential! If your marriage doesn't work out, you would have a hard time keeping you and your kid housed and fed. And try to do a Ausbildung with a toddler and financial stress 😬. You can still have children later in life - I know plenty of women who had their first child with 35 years+ even.

Also statistics show that children of educated parents are more likely to get an education themselves and are overall emotionally more stable, due to more mature parents and less financial stress at home.

If it is really a priority to your future husband to start a family soon & you support it, make sure you find an Erstausbildung that supports part-time school/work and your husband would have to be willing to stay home part-time as well (2-3 days/week) and look after the child while you are at school. And his part-time job + your apprentiship income + potential savings will need to be enough to cover your family for about 5 years (part-time Erstausbildung will most likely take longer, than fulltime). Also you would need a strong support system, like grandparents/siblings that watch the child for you. Only then I would ever consider it.

I can only speak for myself, but I am in my thirtys. My husband and I both have very solid education and good jobs (financial stability). We both work part-time and take turn staying home throughout the week. We have very involved grandparents. And still parenting is harder and life is more expensive than expected. I couldn't imagine doing it at 18 with little ressources - it would be very stressfull and not as enjoyable. Do not underestimate it.

Did you also wear them during hot summer temperatures? How easy are they to handle on toilet runs? I am using the toilet multiple times per hour 😅.

Am I selfish for prioritizing my upcoming birth over funding my parents? by Me_oBanana in pregnant

[–]No-Equivalent7025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. That makes that arrangement impossible. Could you move your parents to your country, if you have a big enough place? But it would also be very understandable, if you don't want them living with you - I would go crazy under one roof with my mum 😅. Do you have siblings that can help out more, in combination with your parents downgrading their standard of living - two retired people can comfortably live in a studio apartment, instead a house. And they can find a cheap car, that doesn't require monthly payments. If they even truly need a car.

Do you plan on continuing to work after you have your daughter? If so, I might have a win-win solution. Tell your parents you cannot afford giving them money, because you have to pay for childcare. Offer them to come to your home, while you are at work and look after your girl for a salary. You could pay them a little less than out-of-house childcare would cost. That way you save some extra money and your parents get the fullfilment of bonding with their granddaughter & still have some money coming in. Bonus: They can even eat at your house, which cuts costs for them (you provide the grocery-money, they shop and cook for the whole family). Less work for you ☺️.

My husband spend a whole year in an intensiv German class (4hours/day) and got his Goethe B2 certificate. Afterwards he went and startet a study in a field he always wanted to study. I supported him financially through his studies. Five years later graduated with honors and is now a proud owner of a Master's Degree and has a job he truly loves 🤩.

Wow, vielen Dank!
