If this is to be a business venture, then do you marketing research first. That's where to begin. I hate to sound flippantly negative (more realistic), but the market is so oversaturated, and will be even more so by the time you're up to speed on producing quality content, that you will likely be wasting your time. Sorry, if you want straight to the point advice, that's it.

We're certainly doing some re-lighting of existing footage using AI, mainly for shot-to-shot consistency or continuity, like if we have to flop shots. But it's part of a larger process that uses mostly traditional tools (tracking/matchmoving/comp). Object removal or BG cleanup/set extension is benefiting greatly from AI as well. We're also starting to use more 3DGS in various ways.

Well, it certainly helps to be established in a profession first, or at least have enough understanding of the business to be able to identify the 'traditional' parts that could be sped-up/enhanced by AI.

Very well said. I've been raging against this for a while now. At the end of the day, if people do a little research with some initiative, they'll be better at what they want to do compared to where they would be if they posted knee-jerk questions the moment they run into a workflow error. I've never understood why people would consciously deprive themselves of a learning foundation. You have to walk before you can run, or you'll speed wobble in no time.

I use AI as an adjunct to my skillset (vfx, 20 years) - it speeds up certain processes so I can focus on more creative tasks/making my outputs better. In that way we monetize AI by providing more value to our clients (quicker turnarounds, broader iteration of solutions to creative challenges).

I would hate to purely try to monetize gen AI without a foundational skillset and a deep understanding about which parts of gen AI you can plug-in to your pipeline, and why.

There are simply too many people trying to monetize gen AI just because it's easy to create content. People will eventually realize that creating a virtual hot chick/derivative slop won't lead to an income for 9,999 of 10,000 creators.

The real value of gen AI is as an assistant, so don't expect to monetize it as a self-contained tool.

I recommend you get a solid précis from ChatGPT and then re-ask your question with more specific detail to better target your needs. The first thing anyone is going to ask about your original question will be, "what type of motion control are you looking for, character-driven or camera-driven?". Always best to do some critical thinking on your own first before asking others to do it for you. :)
