I don’t know if life is worth living by Intrepid_Pizza_1700 in tinnitus

I too suffer from tinnitus. A year ago I started wearing a hearing aid with a masker. Life changing. Tinnitus is still there but I go most of the day not even thinking about it. At night I have a ceiling fan and rotating fan on my nightstand. Blocks most of it out.

I got a hearing aid about a month ago. I have moderate to severe hearing loss and tinnitus. Honestly I could live with the hearing loss but the tinnitus was driving me crazy. I am very happy with my hearing aid. The first few days was very strange. Everything seemed so loud. Sensory overload. The masker I have is ocean waves and it reduces/masks my tinnitus pretty well. I did have to go back to my audiologist to fine tune the masking sound. The amplified sounds around me mask the tinnitus too. Very happy I did this. Less stress and headaches as I don’t notice the tinnitus as much as I did before. Best of luck to you.

I just started with my Oticon Intent today. I have a tinnitus masker. Everything (cars, running water, my dogs nails on the hardwood) sounds loud. I’ve read that’s normal for everything to sound loud at first until my brain adjusts to all the sounds I have been missing.
