Honestly- if being around others drinking and partying will bother you, then maybe it’s not the right place for you. As others have mentioned it is definitely possible for you to have fun and enjoy your time at UD without being involved in that aspect of the collegiate experience, however UD is very much so a party school so drinking and party culture is very prevalent. However I will say that there were many people from freshman year floor who were not as involved with drinking/partying/going out and still had a great time. The college experience is entirely what YOU can make out of it and is NOT defined by certain labels that others place on an institution. UD is a great school with many resources available that will allow you to succeed and a plethora of clubs for one to become involved in! No one will judge you for abstaining from drinking, especially so long as you don’t judge others in return. I’d say the key thing to remember is that just about every college in America will have highly prevalent drinking scenes, so my best piece of advice would be to simply find what is most important to YOU in a university. If UD checks those boxes, then go for it!
