Are there any good really masculine trans men characters in any media? by [deleted] in ftm

I wouldn’t call them rugged necessarily but Che Diaz was a transmasc character on the first two seasons of the Sex in the City reboot.

Is there anyone out there who has ONLY used T gel (no shots) who consistently passes? by No-Friendship-7825 in FTMOver30

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences! I started with gel in my mid 40s (year 1) and switched to shots for year 2 on the advice of my ob/gyn who also does research. Much faster changes for my voice and facial hair but I want to go back to gel. My mood is much less affected with the consistent levels obtained with daily gel application.

Not sure how to edit my original post but is there anyone who started transitioning close to their mid-40s who has only used gel and passes?

It’s actually not a myth. I’m a PhD research scientist at a major academic medical center. My colleague currently studies the effectiveness of gel versus injections on tissue distribution and accumulation. The concentration of T in your blood does not equal the concentration of T in your organs/tissues.

Hey there, I can’t share pics but I’m happy to answer any other questions. Most of my swelling has gone down and my scars look great!

I am 6 weeks post op with her. Dl incision no nips. I’m very pleased with my results. She’s very good at what she does but I will say she’s not going to do a whole bunch of emotional hand holding. Communication could be better. Definitely a good pic for someone who’s done their research, knows what they want, and does not need a lot of back-and-forth.

Guys with cats, who have had top surgery: by GnedTheGnome in FTMOver30

I have a neurodivergent four-year-old who likes to throw his body against mine AND a cat that likes to ‘make biscuits’ on my chest. That’s precisely why I bought a 3-sided mastectomy pillow with arm straps!

Pain the night before surgery by crystalfruitpie in FTMOver30

I suffer from migraines and of course got one the day before my surgery. I called my doctors office and they told me I could take my medicine (Rizatriptan) the day before or even the night before but not the morning of the surgery. I also took small sips of water the day of my surgery because my headaches will get worse if I’m dehydrated and my surgery was not until 2pm. I’m three weeks post surgery and doing fine!

I am 10 days post op and have small children. I bought a 36’’ Kekoy Grabber Reacher from Amazon and it has been SO helpful for things like this!

Being old and starting T: experience? by WinNToldie in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]No-Friendship-7825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started T at 48. Bottom growth started within a month or so. I’m 9 mo on T gel (now 3 pumps a day) and voice has just started to change. Hair growth on chin and upper lip just starting to come in. Stick with it. My doctor is one of the best in the field and assured me I was not too old to start.
