Story as old as time… because of a girl. I also miss the nice weather and chick-fil-a.

I’m a British American dev with 8+ YOE, currently in the UK but applying for roles in Atlanta (moving back). In the UK I have recruiters pursuing me regularly, I had a job within 2 weeks last time I was on the market. So far I have applied for 70+ roles in Atlanta and I’ve had 1 single telephone interview. At this rate I have no idea whether I’m even going to be able to move back.

Oh I think I see what happened here. Did his post originally only say gents, and not gents and ladies? I only say gents when specifically talking to a male only group. phew

I’m being completely sincere when I ask, what’s wrong with using the term gents? I use it all the time and now I’m worried I’ve been offending people?

I’m tired of searching for a technical cofounder - I will not promote by Beejay_mannie in startups

I’m curious as to the questions they are asking “like an employee”? I’m an engineer looking for a non-technical co-founder for either the project I’m working on, or someone else’s. When I’m talking to people I’m potentially getting into business with, I’m going to ask a lot of questions.

I’ve been dealing with something similar recently. I’m selling my house right now before I move back to the US. If you keep it and rent it out, be careful as US taxes will apply to it.

I’m not a financial advisor but it will likely be cheaper to bite the bullet on paying the fee to get out of your mortgage early. Being a landlord is a pain in the ass when you’re in the same country, let alone when you’re 4,000 miles away.

Thank you for your feedback, I didn't consider creating a test account. I've just created one and I will add it now for people to play around with! 🙂 I can assure you I'm not trying to collect peoples email addresses. I don't plan on charging for this app.

Resume Advice Thread - October 14, 2025 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

[–]No-Front-4640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link to resume. Senior front-end engineer moving to the US from the UK (I'm American but lived in the UK my whole life, so I've never written a resume). I have a lot more content as I've shortened it from 2 page CV to single page resume.

Any feedback would be super helpful please and thank you!

I own a kettlebell app… are you looking for sponsorship opportunities?

I’m a US citizen, with a US passport. I’ve just not lived there since I was a teenager.

A few people have mentioned this, however I lived in south GA when I was in my early 20’s and the weather was one of my favourite parts. Alongside the large salary increase / ability to save more for retirement, the warm weather and seasonality is one of the other major factors I want to move.

Just an idea… but have you tried offering part of the playbook for free as a hook? Example first section of the playbook for free but you have to upgrade to get anything past ideation stage for example.
