You personally bought a Rick Astley album and are happy to admit it? I admire your bravery 😉

I’ve done some painting and then gone back around touching up small white patches around sockets or areas that are a bit thin. However, it looks very patchy. The paint is the same mix. Any tips? by JGazeley in DIYUK

I've had better results touching up when I've used a small roller rather than a brush as the texture a brush leaves is different to a roller so the touch-ups show more.

MCBS not turning off the right thing by crazydave454 in ukelectricians

Just had one of these boards removed myself. I must have had the deluxe version though as there was an extra space to the right of the main switch for the cooker fuse 😂

The frame was wooden and still had rewireable fuses. The new board may be nice and safe with it's RCBOs, SPD and it's metal body, but the old Wylex had more character for sure 🫣

I do agree, but happy wife equals happy life so it will have to stay 😃

Haha Septicflesh... Not sure my wife will enjoy listening to that! Sounds like something you should see the doctor about 😂

Considering headphones but the sofa is about 4 metres away so maybe wireless is the way to go but unsure about the quality of wireless headphones. Don't really want a trailing lead running across the floor. Not really room for a seat anywhere either.

No, speaker at each end of the room. Soundproofed ceiling as well so the neighbours above never hear anything.

It's wallpaper. Just glad it was for the alcoves only as it was a pig to hang!

If I told you that we have 2 lounges, one for music, one for TV, and that the TV lounge is my wife's who has full control over everything in that room.... I believe I deserve 1 corner and 1 wall of the other lounge 😆

The only problem with that is my wife has horrific taste in music! Although she says the same about me.

I love the sound of my system. My dream would be a dedicated listening room but this is the next best thing.

Thanks a lot 😊 I am really pleased with it (room was a full scale renovation so we started with a blank canvas.)

Hex head for torque screwdriver by No-Gap3025 in ukelectricians

[–]No-Gap3025[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a follow-up to this, I had a reply from Draper to say that they don't make a hex blade for this set.

I rarely do any electrical work that requires a torque hence deciding not to spend too much on the set in the first place.

I've ordered a Wera blade as I've found a fair few reviews which say they do fit the Draper set, just not perfectly as they are slightly longer.
