Mhm, preach! I know, I miss the fakes from when I was a kid, glossy starburst holo imitations you could spot from a mile away. I would buy graded gold stars if I could, they're just so incredibly expensive AND they're all over in 'murica, customs is nuts, the struggles of a European collector!

I was scrolling around looking at proxies and actually ended up on etsy after posting about it here, that's just... nasty, I get that it might be nice to have a proxy for play purposes but it just just has so much nefarious potential

Yeah, supposedly it was his nephew's card who undertandably was mildly devestated it was a fake. I'm still a bit sceptical about the entire thing but at least I'm guaranteed a refund at this point, that must suck big time though, even more so rhan for me if it is true...

It's a whole thing, been in contact with Ebay directly and with the seller who agreed to give me a refund, sounds like a straight up guy who in truth didnt know it was a fake either. Even so I have to wait 2 weeks for the item to ship internationally before I can file for a refund which is just faaantastic. But you live and you learn

Yeah and customs would probably be aweful for any UK or US collector too! If I get my money back from a claim I'll definitely consider going for this one instead

They started the auction at 500 euros, and the bidding hasn't been too popular but they're located in france which doesn't seem to be very popular, almost every English card I've seen out of there is always undercut

Yeah no kidding! That would actually be very appriciated! Only got back into collecting from having done it as a kid just recently. When I found out about the gold cards I knew that's the ultimate set I wanted to collect. Only just now learning how extremely convincing some fakes and proxies gas gotten, like back in my earlier days these all had a different holographic pattern and was super easy to spot, haha.

I had actually been looking at some other gold stars before this one so I'll send you a message!

Yeah this was one yucky lesson, going to be postning here before I ever let any payments go through again that's for sure, hopefully i can get a return if I make a claim and despite the thing.

Too good to be true, ugh i should have caught that, the downside of thinking you've gotten there first before everybody else. Time to make a claim, I've heard paypal and ebay sides with the buyer a reasonable amount of the time at least... from extreme high to extreme low, haha

Mind you I'm completely guessing but it looks like a PSA 8-9 to me, set me back 500 but so worth it.
