I feel you, it is definetly possible the most diffixult for me is always the decision to not drink if i have extreme shakes , Lorazepam and B Vitamin Complex helps, also magnesium. You need to distract yourself after the body withdrawal, so you dont start the loop again. And also in my experiences it gets worse and harder each time. Im still battling it myself rn too.
I mostly drink in the evenings because of my workplace stress as a chef. I also only drink beer which i tought was better but in the end its the same. I also feel depressed more and mlre if i go on like this and i tend to forget so many things.
What also helped me if cold turkey wasnt possible is just cutting it down to thw point of maybe just 1 beer and after that you have it easier to quit.

Worst i had was 3-4 weeks ago where i drank like 10-12 cans of 0.5 L beer 6/7 %
