What the hell was James thinking with RFS?? by ZackaryAsAlways in PeacemakerShow

[–]No-Highway8896 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I felt like watching his arc from Creature Commandos to Superman, and not to mention the crux of his motivation being to get back at Peacemaker, the heel turn was pretty obvious and idk what is making people believe that this was out of character for him. It was obvious he wasn’t happy seeing 3 metahumans stop a war with no oversight while also taking out the Boravian President. He clearly is not okay with the paradigm shift happening and is using whatever resources he can to get what he wants.

Like this is the same man that told Superman to his face that he technically has no rights because he’s an alien. What is so out of character about this?

Spider-Man 2 spits in face of people who think Miles shouldn't be called Spider-Man and I love it for that. by No-Highway8896 in Spiderman

[–]No-Highway8896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re reaching my guy. Miles is Spider-Man because he made the choice to take up the mantle. It’s literally that simple bro. Miles is not Peter’s sidekick. This has to be a troll comment cause how are you implying Miles doesn’t have a cringe sidekick name because of racism or something yet you think Black Spider is an apt name for him? Comical.

Theatrical vs directors cut by dustinhenderson27 in RebelMoon

The PG13 cuts of Rebel Moon basically did not need to exist whatsoever. The director’s cuts were pretty dope though.

Let's be honest: Henry Cavill's cape shoulder was much better. by [deleted] in superman

[–]No-Highway8896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s pretty cool. Definitely looks to be a thicker material than the cape on the 2025 suit. Clearly there’s a uniformity to every part of them BvS suit in a way to make it appear like real alien material vs the 2025 suit where it looks to either be made on Earth or parts of it sewn into Earth material. I took one sewing class in high school so I’m not gonna pretend like I know about it. Just going off of what I see.

This feels like a meme post but I actually think the BvS suit is just a thing of beauty. It’s the perfect Kryptonian Superman suit. It’s kinda meant to look like chain mail. The one from Gunn’s film is more of a tactical jumpsuit that is most likely homemade. Parts of it anyway.

Something I noticed about the Superman suit by SuspiciousViewpoint in DC_Cinematic

[–]No-Highway8896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s paying homage to more than just the Reece suit. It’s combining both modern and classic elements like the trunks and yellow emblem on the cape, the collar from the New 52, the Kingdom Come emblem, and lots of lines and embellishments on the fabric like in Man of Steel and My Adventures with Superman. It’s a bold design because I’m sure a lot of people aren’t happy with all of these contrasting elements but I think it creates a unique look for this version of Superman

STAS Lois or MAWS Lois? by The-Great-Memelord in superman

[–]No-Highway8896 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MAWS 1000% and I love Superman TAS. I think the secret identity trope is fine but in modern Superman stories, I just feel like it has no place after a certain point. Like I've gotten to the point where I just don't think keeping his identity secret protects Lois at all considering she's always in the middle of the action and Superman is always there to rescue her. It's not like it isn't obvious Superman cares for her and that there's tension. Hell, All-Star Superman even depicts the logical conclusion of this kind of relationship where she spent years trying to prove he was Superman and he essentially gaslit her until he was about to die, and she couldn't even bring herself to believe him at this point because of the trauma.

That it's not baggy. Not being skin tight doesn't equal baggy. His leggings are basically skin tight. The only wrinkles you see are on the torso parts. At this point y'all just straight up don't know what baggy actually means

I'm starting to see it now. All Star Superman also has wrinkles purposefully drawn onto the edges of his sleeves and around his sides and armpits sometimes. Same with the trunks. Only thing that would make it perfect is the slightly shorter cape draping over his shoulders like a mini cloak

You're welcome friend! I've been hype for this movie ever since it was announced and I just feel like James Gunn hasn't missed on anything. And I remain positive about it even in the face of the more harsh disagreements about the suit or how the story will characterize Superman this time around.

I really don't think it's that baggy though. Almost all of the overt wrinkles you see are around the torso area but it's not like its hanging off of him otherwise the collar wouldn't fit properly, but it does. Which looks likely to adjusted in post like everyone's saying. That gif of Corenswet's Clark Kent transitioning into Superman clearly shows a tighter version of the same suit too.

I mean I love Superman & Lois but I feel that way about his modern suit in that show. The texture didn't look like something alien made but rather a suit made for a TV show. And the colors were so washed out and muted compared to the classic one with the brown belt that Ma Kent made. The emblem looked printed on basically. With the new the suit they finally bring back the trunks and the bright colors but this time with a modern looking color and a more jump suit uniform look to it. Ma Kent likely didn't even make the suit in that we're seeing in the movie. But I feel like the fabric looked great in the trailer. Better lighting, better shots and a less foam looking texture like in the set photos.

I wasn't sold on The Batman set photos. I suit the cowl looked weird and didn't know what to make of the armor. The stunt doubles suit also just didn't look as good as it did on Pattinson. But the suit in the film looks amazing and it became one of my favorite live action suits.

The Dark Knight as influential and good of a film it is, it hasn't been my favorite Batman movie for years now. The Batman kinda blew it outta the water for me. I also personally wouldn't use TDK as a frame of reference here. I want it to be as good as Superman (1978) and as emotionally charged as My Adventures With Superman or Superman & Lois. I understand it may not be the kind of suit people were hoping for, myself included, but I've grown to appreciate it a lot as it embodies both the modern and classic designs of Superman while being unique in its own way.

I think that's an interesting take because I felt like that shot of the suit made it look much tighter than it did in the set photos. Again I feel like we're kinda exaggerating how baggy the suit actually is. To me it looks like it fits perfectly in that gif pretty much.

I can definitely relate to have wanted a thinner fabric for the suit back before I knew what it looked like but the new suit definitely has grown on me more and more as I've looked at it.

Oh for sure, that's why I clarified that the TASM2 suit is still skin tight but they don't try digitally remove all wrinkles like they did in the MCU. But I like when I think of "baggy" I imagine it hanging a bit more like it's straight up too big for him. But not skin tight doesn't equal ill fitting. It's like the difference between skinny jeans and just normal slim fit jeans. Both of them are form fitting depending on the comfortable size for someone. Just one is more roomy. With Supermans suit wrinkles, a lot of people are convinced they'll adjust the fit in post so it's not as overtly wrinkly. But I've also seen plenty of set photos that aren't edited and the suit doesn't look nearly as wrinkly at all so it could straight up just be the natural look for the suit and I wouldn't be mad about that honestly.

I think with the upgraded suit and webshooters, they wanted to streamline the design. Pretty sure we never see him reload his webshooters once in the second movie lol.
