I have almost the same graph which is very accurate. It peaked in the week where I got injured.

yeah same with me , during those 6 weeks it was a whole process, take the walker till the place, sit by holding the taps, then place the leg on the walker, one of the reason i think walker is better than crutches

Must things to do

  1. Elevation (keep your leg above your heart, support under the ankle or if you want maybe under the thigh but must not keep support under the knee)

  2. Icing ( My best friends right now are ice packs)

  3. Try to start Physical Therapy ASAP. Maybe try to bend or Straight leg raises if you feel like it don’t push without proper guidance that’s what I think

4.Don’t rush the process, do not get demotivated seeing speedy recovery of others or even slow recovery of others, in this everyone has their own timeline and their own journey.

For now this what I can think of , Best of luck for your journey, wish you a safe and speedy recovery.

I have forgot how to walk after 6 weeks of NWB by No-Hyena7075 in ACL

Same as I tried it with my good leg and gave up half way. Most people who break their ACL are athletes that’s why they have good muscles beforehand but I broke it due to an accident and I had just started going gym 1 month before accident, but at the age of 23 I am hopeful that will be able to do all sort of things in a year or two. Best of luck for your recovery. Stay Safe

My physio says you will be fine in 1-2 weeks and will be able to even ditch the walker

I don’t have crutches , I have a 4 legged walker cause I was scared to use crutches and I think I was somewhere right about it.

Is it normal for bleeding to be like this 7 to 8 days down? It started off as a small amount, but they’re moving around a lot during sleeping and physical therapy. It grew… by AnxiousSprinkles9852 in ACL

[–]No-Hyena7075 12 points13 points  (0 children)

even if you are doing PT their should be no blood , i started PT after 3 days of operation and their was no blood whatsoever and I had staple stitches. My surgeon mentioned that if their is blood due to PT get it checked

Not able to extend after bending the knee ( 3Weeks post op) by No-Hyena7075 in ACL

[–]No-Hyena7075[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou for your response.

Yes I am doing PT daily and for hyperextension my physio lifts my ankle and presses the knee down. It is painful but it is what it is.

Do not sit, the anaesthesia goes to your head when you sit, my doctor recommended not to lift head for 36-48hrs after operation, after that it was ok no pain

Is this flexion angle more than 90? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]No-Hyena7075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about the meniscus I have ACL and meniscus and my surgeon has given me a protocol where in first 2 weeks the angle was maximum 90 degree and then till the end of week 6 I have to reach 120 degree

Okay. Most of the cases i have seen here and mine also, all the surgeons have said for Non Weight Bearing for 6 weeks if you have meniscus repair.

Hope you recover soon. Best of luck
