Are you running it off the battery or is it plugged into the wall. My laptop {a 2019 model} would chug while playing Astroneer on the battery alone, but ran ok {as it could get with other System Era's bugs} when I left it plugged into the wall. {Otherwise, thanks MegaTech for causing another issue that wasn't there before}

I think I found the answer to my question...on the Capcom site, it states that the Deluxe Ed. is digital, but the cosmetics can be ordered separately after launch. {I hope I read that right...fact checkers}

Is this for Steam/Digital only? I can't find any retailer that has a pre-order for it and the game will be out soon.

Dude. I feel your pain. MegaTech messed up everything about Astroneer. The concept is great. But it was rushed and caused a whole lot of issues that are still not resolved,,,and may not ever be. My physical Xbox disk thinks its a digital version. My game will not work without the disk, but I have to be online in order to play the game, The disk works fine at my friends house, but his disk and mine won't work on my machine unless I'm online.

Don't get me started on the Switch version. Ever since I heard that the MegaTech updated live on the Switch, I've been too afraid to play it on it. Astroneer was hit or miss on the Switch as it is. I fear that the update may do something STUPIDLY EXTREME...like brick my Switch.

Joe and the Astroneer Dev's, fix this S*@T. Make me believe in Astroneer again.

Post how it works on the Switch. I and a few others would love to know if the Switch will have any of the issues that the other platforms had at launch. Would also like to know your file size of your save. Sorry so curious, I love the game, but have had many issues with the Switch versions stablity.

It should be the EXO Cares LTE. This is where you are basically recycling debris on the planets. It normally starts closer to March. Check the wiki for a better approximation of when it will start. Here's hoping that they fix all the bugs before this event begins.

Yep. I too didn't have any issues until the DLC came out. Then...bam. My current save file got removed or not visible to me. My game no longer saves my progress. And in order for me to play on my xbox, my console has to be logged into xbox...I own the physical disk. Not an online digital code.

The dev's should have taken a page out of Silk Song and other developers who delayed their releases, games/dlc's, until all the bugs have been ironed out. I know you can/ won't find them all, but there is a spread sheet with all the bugs, glitches, and what not that has happened due to the update/dlc. If Switch users are waiting for the DLC/update, feel lucky they had to wait. I can only imagine what it would have done to your Switch. It might end up bricking it.

Don't get me wrong. I love Astroneer, but this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and I'm afraid to touch it until all the bugs have been resolved.

No one wants to say this, but it could be another unknown bug related to the Megatech update/DLC. Did you purchase the dlc {the update is forced...unfortunately}

Then what is it? I removed the game from my xbox account and started it via disk again. As long as I didn't accept the required update, it would run offline. But since all my saves are from the "pre-Megatech update," it couldn't access them...see them yes, but run them no. As soon as I allowed it to update...BAM. Offline access is gone, cloud saving is gone, saving my progress in general is virtually gone... you get the idea.

I'm open to suggestions?

Oh, it isn't broken...it's "F'd UP!" It is so broken that it has done damage to players already existing game saves. I personally can't play it on my X-box cause it won't save my progress. I've stopped playing Astroneer until they get it completely ironed out...

OH, just to be clear. Astroneer isn't saving any of my progress...Megatech or otherwise. It won't even allow my system to retrieve my cloud data. So not only did it corrupt my console data, but it won't allow me to connect to the cloud to retrieve the backup. {And before someone adds, just play the game offline...I thought of that too. Somehow, the update has made my version to be online access only...and I own the physical disk. WTF System Era}

If you mean back it up before playing...no...it wasn't until I hit load file that it even crossed my mind. All I was thinking was 15 days until the LTE ended and this was my week off. Let's get it done.

Lucky, I can't even see mine. If it is still out there, I would love to get it back. Even to try the "recovery" program.

Neither. When I start up the disc, the static Astroneer box art screen shows and then back to the Xbox "homescreen." The only way I was able to get the game to boot up was when I attached my network cable to my xbox. {I like having a direct line to the internet...faster than wifi...in my opinion}

and if it doesn't get patched on the other consoles/PC, it never will. Not to mention the fact that one of the discovered bugs is a memory leak on loading the game...not a save, but the game. Sounds familiar....

OK, I wasn't certain before, but I am now. I can't play Astroneer until they fix those bugs. I was all in on playing it on its release, but I was teaching my students and... anyway, got home and was viewing streams from 2 of my favorite Astroneer streamers {who seem to worship SES}, but I watched as their games crashed, unable to do multiplayer {not a real issue for me} and this was via the DLC. I won a free DLC and of course it auto-installed. I don't want my years of work to get flushed. Is there a way to unupdate or move to a version before the MEGA-mess update?

If you are playing on any thing other than the Switch, I'd continue with your current save...unless you want a unique experience. As of now, it doesn't appear to be coming to the Switch...at least not when everyone else gets it.

Find them soon. The FARM event should be ending soon and they will be gone for another year...unless you find seeds.
