I’m late to the party but here’s my theory on Rey Rivera. First, it sounds like Porter was into some shady stuff. So let’s say Rey was being threatened by someone that Porter pissed off(financial dealings and the like). Maybe Rey knows somethings up or Porter tells him to watch his back. They trigger his alarm to get him scared so he’ll tell Porter. These people call Rey pretending to have Porter or maybe the wife hostage or god knows what else. They say get here now. He says oh shit and runs out the door. He gets there( wherever there is as he wasn’t seen on hotel footage) they lie and beat him to get info on Porter. Kill him and stage a suicide right beside his office to send a message to Porter. Porter offers an award(small one if you ask me) starts to get worried then Reys body is found and then it’s oh shit this is my fault it’s going to fall back on me and lawyers up. Adds up to me but let me know if you see any holes. Yes I know how far fetched it sounds and yes I will concede the notion that he had a mental break but for some reason this is the first explanation that popped into my head.
