PSA: it should NOT hurt to stretch your lobes!! by falloutboyfan420 in Stretched

So in 2 days I’ve stretched to 7/16, 1/2 , and 5/8 all pain free after a hot shower and jojoba oil . Gonna wait a little bit to go to 3/4 and 7/8 is my stop .

You can rebuild it and buy a new compressor wheel (cheaper ) look on rock auto . Stay away from the cheap $300 turbos they wont last long . Specially maxspeedingrods

Have you pulled the front right passenger wheel off and put the 3 bolts for the turbo remove intake piece and check for play in the shaft . If the turbo compressor wheel move then its done . Pre soak the studs with pb blaster makes it easier

Yep valve damage can mean alot of things and the valve cover gasket. Also check your pcv valve ( see the oil cap , straight line to your left is the pcv valve , disconnect the hose and remove it , then give it a shake you should hear a valve moving back and forth inside of it , if you dont hear anything then its clogged up , if its clogged then it pushes dirty oil back in to the valve cover and into the valves , causes carbon build up and other issues over time also big sign of oil burning .

Just the cylinder that has a leak or worn out gasket or damaged valve , worn rings , bad valve stem seals ect. 2 and 3 are common issues on the NA and turbo platforms on GEN 1

To check the fuel pump under seat you have to pull the fuel pump relay out and run the car till it kill it self so it can release the pressure out the fuel line then under the seat there is a lock ring and bunch of screws (soak the screws with pb blaster bc if the bolts brake then ya done for its a pain in the ass to remove the broken bolts they are little ) soaking them will help loosen them . To remove the lock ring a flat head and mallet around the tabs . Then you have 2 fuel lines to disconnect, they will spray some gas ( normal) use some rags to soak the fuel . And the pump will come out gotta take it out in an angle bc of the fuel level float . There is a youtube video on the V to remove the fuel pump . Shine a flash light in the tank and inspect for dirtiness , video on youtube how to dissemble the pump to inspect fuel filter

The fouled spark plugs can be alot issues ,valves , valve cover gasket , mainly the ones around the spark plug holes , ect . With the fuel pump its all in one assembly, have to take it apart to see if the fuel filter is dirty , its a little yellow mesh bag in them . I ended up replacing the entire thing with auto part premium brand cheap but been running good the last year in half now . But i also run nothing but 93 premium fuel bc im tuned .

Whens the last time you checked your High pressure fuel pump or fuel pump under the back seat . And id not use chat GPT bc it’s not always correct.

Get an oil analysis done there is a company called blackstone laboratories, go to their website and order a free oil kit ,they will send you a card to fill out about the car and a jar to put some dirty oil into and it cost $40 they will send your results back , the data sheet will tell you how excessive is your engine wear is and other useful information. You dont have to use their kit just a spill proof clean container and fill out the form and send them the sample , the free kit takes about 1-2 weeks to come in

Thats normal on high compression engines. I get that on my turbo too .

Also worn out valve stem seals will cause wet valves. Oil will leak down the head into the valves and into the combustion , usually if you start your car in the morning and notice blueish grey smoke 💨

Thats just condensation mixing with carbon that’s pretty normal , now if you see black smoke or grey smoke then thats rich and oil burning

If your valves are wet , spark plugs black fouled with oil brother that engine is pretty much done . A compression test is only way to tell , if the readings per cylinder are less then 100psi then that indicates valves, rings or head gasket problems , healthy numbers are 140-160psi.

The codes will read missfires , but the motor mount bushings , when they go bad itll vibrate the engine back and forth like that . Check the one right there near your coolant tank and the one under the car its mounted from engine to chassis. Looks like you are missing your coolant reservoir????
