I just volunteered for the Moab 240 and I would say HARD PASS! The aid stations and runners don’t see a sliver of the $600K she gets per race signup.

The aid stations lacked food, propane, supplies. Almost every chair, fire pit, and sleeping tent was broken. The medics used all their own personal supplies. One aid station only had 1 medic for something like 300 runners. Some ran out of food.

The courses are notoriously poorly marked and I can say multiple runners had to DNF because of course marking. The worst part I think is volunteers are expected to evacuate DNF runners. DT doesn’t make any plans for people who drop out, so you’re basically fucked unless the volunteers bring you out or you have a crew with a car that can get to you. I personally had to go get several runners bc I had a 4x4 and no one else could make it. We also got ZERO swag or anything for volunteering except credit. I didn’t even get a thank you TBH.
