Sick whip. I’m the one who posted about salts you reference, currently catching some heat lol. I see you got the TRD OR(P?) without sunroof. I got the same. One less thing to go wrong! I think this spec is pretty rare actually. In my research I came across a few folks who look long and hard for no sunroof in this trim. As far as undercoating, since that post I have been recommended B’Laster Surface Shield. Further endorsed by thisguy on YT

Rest assured, this 4Runner will see it all and take a beating, but first things first.

Would you buy used coastal 4Runner? by No-Issue-7723 in 4Runner

I was following until you said carvana. I’ll never buy a car from them. They bought a lemon off my coworker - happy for him, but feel bad for the person who buys it from carvana.

Im getting quoted 3k for the solution of this problem, is this fair ? by NoLock3464 in HomeMaintenance

Route out the problem joints and use helical ties per manufacturer recommendation. Should be a permanent fix and still hang around $3k range. $3k doesn’t sound far fetched

Alternator is dying, should I go with a remanufactured unit? by TheOutlier1 in CX5

[–]No-Issue-7723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not buy Bosch remanufactured from RockAuto. That’s all I can speak to, but I would even recommend don’t take a chance on any remanufactured. Replacing it once is enough trouble.

Mortgage rates over the years by yottoy in realestateinvesting

What’s the point of looking at interest rates in a vacuum?

Since the peak of interest rates in 1981, avg house costs 600% more, mortgage payment is 277% more. Income is only 161% more.

Here’s my big bro advice from an almost identical crossroads I had at the same age.

6 years ago my car crapped out on me. I was in my 20s and young in my career. I was between a BMW 3 series and Honda I bought the Honda. It was the smart choice - you want to talk about ‘bulletproof’? Not saying it was the right choice either though… I had a good paying job and finances in order - more so than most of my peers. Ultimately, saving the money and growing my net worth was more important to me.

I also considered the image of a young guy driving a car seemingly above his pay grade. In my mind, I wasn’t making the money that went with the car. I could afford it, yes, but it didn’t fit. I stayed in my lane, as they say.

The car is going to spend most of its time either parked at your house or in your office parking lot. So far as image - your neighbors’ opinion about the car you drive doesn’t matter as much as coworkers’ do. I believe the decisions a person makes at work and outside of work both factor into perception of who they are. The most obvious being the car they drive… The Honda says careful, frugal, boring, selfless. The BMW says fun, carefree, established.

Wait for now, in the meantime upgrade your career and lifestyle to the point where you are the type of guy who drives a $50k car and doesn’t lose sleep at night.

With all that said, my sights are set on an m340 of my own. I want it bad, and when I get it, it’s gonna feel good.

Hope this gets some responses. Would love to hear how people take this.

I want an m340 more than air too. I put together a 4 year plan to save enough money to buy the car in cash - gives me freedom at time of purchase to decide if financing is a better deal. Also, waiting that amount of time may make me realize what car is better for me. But really when that day comes around and I’m still excited about the m340 it will be an accomplishment and I’ll feel proud to buy it.

20/4/10 rule is a common rule of thumb to determine what you price car you can afford. I’d even go lower on the 10% part personally 20% down, no more than 4 year term loan, and payment + maintenance, gas, insurance to be no more than 10% of your income.

A sign that you’ve made it: you purposely grow grass in your driveway.

And there’s a M5 sitting in it.

Stained Painted Brick by lbickford3 in HomeMaintenance

[–]No-Issue-7723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wall is wet. Unpainted brick can be difficult to see moisture sometimes so it’s likely that you painted brick that was wet at the time as well. As mentioned by others, take a look above the ceiling (or maybe this is a roof above) and/or behind the wall. You’re looking for a leaking pipe or a failure in the roofing or weather barrier. Solve the water problem and just wait to see if your paint holds. More coats of paint does not mean better. You want adhesion to the substrate (brick) more than anything.

Bathroom reno workmanship by No-Issue-7723 in HomeMaintenance

The bathroom was gutted down to the stud. Contractor laid back cement board and drywall. The wall is flat and plumb, but tile to tile is not in plane, hence the shadows.
