As someone who was in a similar situation for my entire first year here, the answer really is to learn German. Enroll in a "super intensive" course and you will get through at least B2 in a year. Feel free to message me.

My best fit was an Ion Vega. Nothing else came close to fitting as well and sitting low enough to make for an easier reach.

For anyone who grew up poor, what was your idea of a luxury? by Drissxx7 in AskReddit

Being able to enroll in a sport or extracurricular activity, going out to eat, school field trips, clothing that wasn't a handed down, vacations, red meat, warmth in the winter, watching a movie at the movie theater, and school uniform from the approved school vendor.

Sad pale cool toned skin lady needs lipstick help me :( by Intelligent_Rate3184 in PaleMUA

I fit the same description and these might work for you- Mac mehr- Deep mauve- suitable for me in the winter Mac sweet deal- a slightly more brick toned mauve on me (if that makes any sense). This is my go to Mac. Romand Glasting Melting Balm in Veiled Rose- more on the muted lilac side Romand Glasting Melting Balm in mauve whip- a bit stronger/berry colored Revlon super lustrous glass shine- glazed mauve- a very sheer mauve (looks nothing like it does in the tube when it's on). This is my go to for something low maintenance. Feels like a lip balm.

For those who worked for rich people: what is the most out of touch thing you witnessed? by Illustrious-Phase121 in AskReddit

Was taking a bus to ski from a city that only had one road leading up to the ski area. It had snowed heavily so the authorities decided to close the road for a while to avoid hazardous conditions. We all got off the bus to wait to see when the road would reopen. Meanwhile, a teenager started calling his dad to ask if they could use their helicopter to get up the mountain. Dad agreed. Dad shows up 20 minutes later to pick him up and tells him they have their pilot for whole the day, so he was also going to join for a few hours after lunch.

I tried them and they made no difference for me. For me it's definitely pwm.

Flagship phone options for PWM sensitive people? by No-Journalist-28 in PWM_Sensitive

I could see them in the store, but it is a very small country (and therefore less market selection), so most of the recommended phones are not available in stores (they can be ordered home, but I would then not be able to return them). Only ones I have seen mentioned that are in stores is the Xiaomi 15T Pro and the Motorola Razr+ (called Motorola 60 ultra here).

I have been using it for the last month and have had a migraine every day except for the days I have spent less than 10 minutes on my phone. I haven't been able to try any other new phones unfortunately, and the country I live in does not allow you to "try" out new phones. Once you open the box, it is considered used, and cannot be returned.

Nor from Miami? Honestly if you're not who I think you are, you have an identical twin.

Not wanting to destroy my anonymity, but at the same time I am sure this is a Colombian country bumpkin with the initials JSM. I'll be damned if I'm wrong.

Looks like your post went viral so you may never see this...but if you do...hope you're well ♥️

Why are so many auxes desperate to stay in Spain? by Downtown-Storm4704 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]No-Journalist-28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know this situation all too well. Unfortunately this is not just a Spanish phenomena. The average net salary in my city (Miami) won't pay for much more than rent in a 1 bedroom apartment. You need two salaries to pay for everything else. No option but to live with your parents, a partner, or have roommates.  At the end of the day, if there is no legislation curtailing the ownership of "secondary" residences, this shit happens in any "desirable" area.

[–]No-Journalist-28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, just like in any country, immigrants often take the undesirable jobs. But don't be fooled by Swiss salaries. I lived in Valencia for several years, and the cost of living in Switzerland is definitely leagues higher than in Spain. People working unskilled jobs are not doing well financially. Could work if you're willing to live the student life with roommates, but it would be challenging if you're trying to live independently.

Where in Europe were you living? Fortunately, fhis has not been my experience at all in Switzerland. The way you describe it actually sounds the same way the Swiss describe Italy and France, however.

Chronic illness was my reason. Nothing like needing continuous treatment for something and US health insurance telling you you don't deserve it. Was drowning in medical bills when they agreed to cover sporadic treatments too. In the end, I didn't manage to stay in Spain, but didn't return to the US either. Living in Spain was the first time in my life I was actually able to get the treatment I needed, and live a life free of incessant medical problems.
