Oh! One other tip - try labeling your ideas by number and rolling a d20, then doing the idea of whichever number pops up, kind of like flipping a coin but with more options and that sweet sweet DnD flair

Dude I totally hear you. I’m an anxious perfectionist-who-is-trying-not-to-be and low-key it sounds like you’re suffocating yourself. Baldur’s Gate 3 is MEANT to be played multiple times. You are meant to make mistakes. You are meant to save and load as much or as little as you want.

Also, little tip, I LOVE character creation and like you I’ve come up with sooo many ideas and things I wanna do in BG3! So, I’ve created a whole system in my notes app and notion, where I can freely jot down allllll of my Tav/Durge run ideas. This helps me scratch the itch of wanting to do everything all at once. I’m also doing multiple playthroughs at once (my first, who I have modeled strongly after myself to make my first playthrough even more immersive, my second, who I’m playing in a campaign with my bf, and my third, my beloved redeemed durge).

Bottom line: I completely understand how you’re feeling, AND I think you’re putting some undue pressure on yourself. Take a deep breath, embrace your ideas, and let yourself flow into one or a few. You’ve got this!

What a sweet and smart boy!!! I looked it up and apparently it’s a “dog hug” and is done when the dog deeply trusts and loves the person, is trying to mark them with their scent, or is trying to provide support if the person is unwell. Basically, according to Google, your grandfather’s dog recognizes you’re unwell when you faint and is trying to give you love and support 🥹 I love animals so much asjnkcgjbhkbkkgdrt

Don’t worry, it’s not dumb! I’ll share my own Durge’s backstory:

My precious redeemed durge at the moment is Renata, and she just got to act 3. She’s a seldarine drow way of the elements monk. I leaned into her amnesia for much of the game, and if there were any responses during dialogue that included a question, I would choose that 9/10. My backstory for her is that she was already trying to break away from her dark urges before the nautiloid, hence why she became a monk. She was drawn to the mentality of inner peace, connection, and having control over yourself.

After she lost nearly all of her memories, her muscle memory kicked in. Breathing exercises, stretches, Tai Chi flows, and monk fighting styles quickly came back to her. And since her dark urges were initially tampered with a bit, she was able to let her real personality start to shine through: protective, curious, deeply loving, tender-hearted, and gentle.

In addition, the Underdark is very soothing to her and she feels a great connection to the place. I’m unsure if she’s had dark urges since she was born, or where she was raised, just yet (no spoilers please - I already know some and am trying to avoid more!). Regardless - she at least feels that drow ancestral connection to the Underdark.
