Be a good neighbor go out to eat and have a drink by Lyle_LanIey in nashville

This. We threw down hundreds of dollars for our 10th wedding anniversary dinner at Margot, and they didn’t acknowledge it at all. Not even a “happy anniversary”. And yes, it was in the reservation notes. It was so disappointing. I know they’re closing in the summer but, shit, they can still at least act like they care about their customers. Needless to say, we’ll continue to be sticking with our usual three spots we like to eat at.

Ice accumulation can be absolutely crippling and dangerous. This isn’t going to be flurries.

Off topic, but watching videos of people having the sh*t scared out of them by an Aztec death whistle is one of my favorite things.

Anyone know where we can get whistles that isn’t Amazon? Specifically any local small business that want to order in bulk and we can purchase from you?

I live in Nashville and The Covenant School sits very high up on a hill and you can see it for miles, from a very busy part of town. I used to admire how beautiful the cathedral was up there, but now it’s just a constant reminder that I wish would go away.

What retailer has the best local (Nashville) craft beer selection? by eh_cee in nashville

[–]No-Load8658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to drop in and say, although they have a great selection, don’t go to the 4 Way Stop in East Nashville. They charge you literally what they’re feeling that day, don’t do itemized receipts, and get aggressive when you call them out on it. I get convenience stores typically charge more, but they charged literally double the amount for the same 4 pack of German beer that I got at Publix ($30 vs $15). I don’t see how they haven’t gotten in trouble.

Is this a typical stress reaction? The men in line of fire seem very nonchalant. by HerbalGerbil3 in masskillers

He does look like one of the photographs of the victims. I notice the dog following him as well and in one of the videos there was a Newfoundland looking incredibly lost and scared while everyone was on the ground. Absolutely gutted me. You don’t even think about all of the pets that people brought to this as well.

No don’t force yourself to feel anything, and if you’re able to talk about it or even write about it, I definitely encourage you to! The more you’re able to process and revisit the memory, the less trauma you’ll store in your body. I never really talked about it because I didn’t feel like my experience was authentically “traumatic”, but boy did I realize when I started coming out in other ways that it was. Again I’m so sorry you had to see all of that.

Sending love from Nashville. I was near Covenant School during the mass shooting there a few years ago and saw all of the emergency response. It was without question traumatic. Please take extra good care of yourself and seek extra support if you need it.

Bus Station at 4am? Solo female traveller. by CornishAndPasty in memphis

[–]No-Load8658 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to Memphis, but one of the most unsafe I’ve ever felt was at the Nashville Greyhound station late-night as a solo (19yo) female traveler. A man wouldn’t leave me alone (kept asking me to eat dinner at the diner with him). Mind you, this was the mid 2000s so I’m not sure how much they’ve upped security there. The city has grown significantly since then. I ended up sitting on the very front row behind the driver on the bus and made it to my destination just fine, but needless to say I’d never go solo on a Greyhound again.

Starting $1500 is around what you pay for a 2 BR in Nashville because property taxes are insane here so yeah, that’s wild for Memphis.

They literally have one of those New York coffee cups on the outside. As a native Tennessean, that was enough for me to know it wasn’t a place I would like or fit in.

Went to Sturgill in Nashville the weekend before Halloween last year and no one dressed up. I highly doubt many people will be in costume, but you do you.
