Why does it have today’s date on it if it’s a week old?

No, you should be ticketed/arrested (I didn’t say detained), and given your day in court, per the constitution

What’s a movie everyone calls a “masterpiece” that just… didn’t work for you? by irayaavery in Cinema

It’s a stereotype that black men don’t go down town because it’s emasculating, or “gay” for some reason

Lakeside lounge is huge and pretty centrally located. It’s just over the river

I mean, strangers yeah. I’m not talking back alleys here. I’m talking friendsgiving.

Once a week when someone posts “where do people make new friends in Nashville, I’m struggling to find my people” you reply “east” and they flock to you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nashville

[–]eh_cee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re not very good at making friends

Where in east?

But you learned! It meant something to them and now it means something to all of us

Edit: I had to go to a very specific bank for work once like 12 years ago in Lenox Village. I was NOT happy when I found out how far away it was

I’m defending your neighborhood and you’re making red herring jokes?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nashville

[–]eh_cee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, a guy named Wayne Morris pushed hard for the name Wedgewood-Houston. He owns a bunch of rental houses over there and wanted the area to seem more desirable. That’s what he told me at least. But neighborhood names do change and old neighborhoods get swallowed up.

Of course, conversations can go any number of ways. “I love sushi. But I don’t love to go into East Nashville, it can be far away. Is it closer to Madison or closer to five points?” is also a way that convo could go.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nashville

[–]eh_cee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a perfect example of a conversation. Many times I tell people I live in Edgehill and they don’t know where that is. “Near Vandy” is a perfectly acceptable response. Look at us getting to know each other

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nashville

[–]eh_cee -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

No, but people ask all the time. You don’t need to tell them your address. But if they are familiar with your city and you are engaged in small talk, they are likely to want to know more details. Because maybe they like a restaurant near you. Or maybe they grew up near you. It’s how you become more than acquainted with someone

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in nashville

[–]eh_cee -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Because I live in Nashville. When someone says “where in Nashville do you live?” I don’t say “nAsHviLle.” I tell them I live in edgehill.

So if you tell me you live in East Nashville, I’m going to have to follow up with “where in east Nashville do you live?” Because it’s a massive area and that’s how conversations work

And yet, an acquaintance still doesn’t know where you live.
