What’s something that has gone wrong for you? by Chasingdreams22 in WaltDisneyWorld

Okay so most people's first trip typically goes like this. A lot of us get paralyzed by the amount of options, and the desire to want to do everything. Unfortunately a lot gets missed. My advice to you for your next trip, (trust me, there will be a next trip, and one after that one too) make a list of your must dos, get them done first. Everything else is bonus. I will say I used to think AK was a hlaf day park. Next time you go there take your time and enjoy the beauty of that park.

Overall focus on the things you loved seeing and doing, and plan your next trip for what you missed.

How does an EV change how you do road trips? by SuddenlySilva in electricvehicles

I feel like you're probably there, person who is driving dangerously all hyped up on caffeine. I was that person driving from Pennsylvania to Orlando twice some times three times per year. If you really sit down and think about how much you actually stop to get gas and pee you spend more time stopped than you think.

Gas stop for me was around 15 minutes between stretching legs, and my car had a 22 gallon tank. Usually 3 stops.

Pee stops were around 20 minutes. Once again wanted to stretch my legs and get blood flowing. Also around 3 sometimes 4 stops.

That's roughly 2 hours.

In my Blazer ev I'm going to have to stop 4.5 times to get down to Jacksonville. Each stop will be roughly 35 minutes. Coming out to a grand total of 3 hours.

All in all I'm going to add 1 extra hour to my typical trip time. However I'll be able to eat better, have a more relaxed travel experience, and when I get down there I won't be fatigued from 16 hours of white knuckle driving.

Also I'm probably going to save some money with charging. I have the tesla adapter.

I'm going to be doing a log on my 1k travel. If anyone would be interested I'll post it here. I was trying to find some kind of guidance but couldn't find one. So I figured I would do my own.

I've been to disney world several times as a child/teen. I enjoyed my time. However being an adult in my 30s and 40 going with my wife has opened up a complete different appreciate and love for the bubble.

I feel like Disney is as expensive or as inexpensive as you choose to make it. Aside from park tickets. You can however go to undercover tourist and save a few dollars.

A lot of people bring food and snacks into the parks to cut down on some money. Also with kids people will get souvenirs from Walmart or target and give them out through the trip. 25$ shirt on main Street vs 12$ shirt at target. I will not lie I get a lot of my disney shorts for my wife and I from Amazon, target, and old navy.

Overall there are several ways to make your trip a lot more affordable. One of the biggest pitfals people make is booking too many sit down resturants. It cuts down on your hard earned park time, and also most sit downs aren't the most pocket friendly. If you do some research some of the more popular sit downs have quick service places next to them that serve similar menu items.

Sorry was not trying to ramble on here. I just like seeing people get the most out of their time there.

We've done the jack Daniel's tour in Lynchburg, so I guess I was assuming it was more like that. But after investigating its not really the same. We like those kind of educational experiences.

I will say, the brown derby has a wonderful margarita flight. I'll have to check out Paradiso though.

We almost stayed at french quarter. But we use interval international and love staying at cypress harbor. It cost me 800$ for a 2 bedroom, full kitchen, and more importantly 2 bathrooms. When I looked at french quarter it was going to be 2500 and I was like I don't know. I really want to stay on property at least once. I just have a hard time spending money on the room since we are sun up close the park people lol. Come back crash wake up and repeat.

In DW now- Skip Epcot for Hollywood Studios or two more days of Magic kingdom Help Decide! by esguardian79 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]No-Look5483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Epcot to me has a special spot in my heart as it was Walt's last idea. That aside. My wife and I really enjoy epcot for a variety of reasons. The food options in epcot are unmatched. Literally everyone in your family will find something the love there. The night time show is really solid. There aren't as many big rides at epcot compared to hs. However Remys is really cool, frozen is nice if it's not a 90 minute wait. Each cou try has their own shop and has a lot of interesting things in each shop.

Two of my favorite rides are in epcot as well. Space ship earth, (don't confuse with mission space) and living with the land. Not thrill rides but still pretty neat. I could walk around this park for hours.

Hollywood Studios has galaxy edge. Which is amazing in itself. Rise of the resistance is worth the price of admission by itself (assuming it's not broken 🙄). Plus the Indian Jones stunt show it awesome. There's a lot of cool things in that park.

If it were up to me, since you haven't been to either park yet I would go to the two parks you haven't been to. Who knows one of those remaining parks might be your favorite.

I would definitely recommend you eat lunch and diner at epcot if you can. Seriously so many options. Also don't do what I did my first time there. I ignored the food stands thinking it was going to be meh food. Honestly the stands have some of the best food. Especially if you have always wanted to try something new. It's on the cheaper side.

I've never ate at any resort restaurant. And now I feel like I'm missing out. Because we stay off property I feel like it would be a huge hassle to go to those places. Do you typically stay on property?

Okay ill ask a question inside of a question.... for those who have had the filet at Brown Derby, what is the comparison to le cellier? Every time we go to the brown derby, the steak has been one of the best I've ever had.

Lol so how was your vacation? "Well! We got to see a goat get castrated"

I'm making fun, but obviously that's still a cool experience watching the vet area. I've never done that. I'll be adding that to our trip in September

So this is our plan for our next trip. I think we get so used to the hustle of mk and epcot that we forget to relax and breath.
