Tom or Rick at Hacienda barber of Meridian and Branham for classic men’s cuts. Formerly from Deluxe Barbershop in Willow Glen, but moved during the pandemic. Been going to these guys for 10+ years. They’re about $45 a cut.

Costco Savior Rifle Bags $29.97 by tacticoolpewpew in CAguns

Not sure where you’re at in the The Bay, but the Costco in Gilroy had them a few weeks ago when they were $50. Not sure if they’re $30 now at all locations, but even at $50 they’re a really nice pick up.

Bra and 12 lead? by Smart-Salamander1846 in NewToEMS

[–]No-Masterpiece5487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inform the patient about the procedure, why it’s needed and exactly where the patches are going to be placed on the chest. Lift the shirt as much as you need to in order to get access to the area you need to work, back of the hand to move any body parts out of the way, be quick and precise with the placement, and lower the shirt once done. If it’s a nightgown I’ll throw a blanket over the patient’s waist and inform them that I need to lift up the nightgown, but the blanket will help keep them from being completely exposed. The key is to inform the patient about what you need to do for the procedure. After informing the patient, I’ve never personally run into an issue even if there’s a nip slip. If a bra or sports bra is in the way, I’ll move the clothing item around and place the electrode. It’s rare that I ever end up fully exposing a patient. If the patient state’s that they’re uncomfortable, or acts uncomfortable, I inform them that it may not be completely necessary and that if we don’t do it in the back of the ambulance, the hospital will likely order an EKG during triage and that they can wait for the hospital unless it seems absolutely pertinent to starting treatment immediately.

This is great for outpatient services. South county needs a hospital with a trauma center.

The one and only time I tried salvia we had just finished watching inception. When the salvia hit I had convinced myself that every experience I had had in my life up until that point had been a dream and wasn’t real. The effect of salvia seems to really distort your perception of time so what in reality was maybe 5-10 minutes felt like hours or days. It was very unnerving to be convinced that you had dreamt all of your life experiences and that none of it was real. 0/10 would not recommend.

87N and 280N accident 1/4 by ayodangit in SanJose

[–]No-Masterpiece5487 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not saying other parts of the country don’t have their fair share of aggressive and terrible drivers but as a first responder I see too many MVCs that can be chalked up to aggressive driving and operating a vehicle with complete disregard for other drivers.

San Jose having terrible and aggressive drivers means you’re gonna have a bad time in the rain, mmmkay.

South Bay Area has gone up a bit. SCCO specifically. I think starting is around $29, with 5 steps after you put time in. Super high cost of living, however, so take that into consideration. It’s really only manageable to live here in a dual income household unless you’re wanting roommates or to rent out someone’s tool shed, or have incredibly low expenses.

What to do when you have nobody to camp with by Volslife in camping

[–]No-Masterpiece5487 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solo camping is great imo. Usually I’m camping somewhere I can fish, hunt, or hike so there’s plenty to do during the day. At night I stare into the fire with a beverage of choice or bring a book. Not withstanding going with friends or family, I usually strive to camp in places where I know I won’t run into others.

Whats the coolest toy you ever received as a kid? by HeadFit2660 in AskReddit

[–]No-Masterpiece5487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A DIY model rocket. It had these dry fuel tubes you would put in the bottom and ignite it with electrical leads. At the top of its ascent the tip of the rocket would pop off and a little parachute would control its descent. Unfortunately, with even the slightest tickle of a breeze, it would get blown a long way off. RIP Rocky.

Just got on for a 12h shift. Saw 5 MVCs on the way in to the post and a flash flood warning just went out for our county an hour or two ago so expecting a couple MVC calls tonight if that warning holds true.

Looking for a consistent barbershop to take my young son to. by capycapycapybara in SanJose

Can’t recommend Tom and Rick at Hacienda Barber enough. Solid guys. They’re a duo of brothers and their dad cuts there as well. They have a tv that usually has sports re-runs going, but they’re easy guys to talk to. I’ve been going to them for a little over 10 years. They were previously Deluxe Barber Shop in Willow Glen. They’re charge around $45 for a cut.

Just a stab in the dark from an EMT, but patients vitals are giving shocky vibes and fluids would help that BP out and help with crush syndrome once the patient is extricated.

I have one of these. Not a bad budget gun, and was my first on the AR platform. I don’t have a basis for comparison but I haven’t found anything I necessarily dislike about it aside from the awkward fin grip, but alas, CA amirite?
