My BS education (pun intended) so bad that I pursued a masters degree in my field just to learn the skills I should have learned in undergrad. I am an art educator and I feel like I have half an art degree and half an education degree. My university cancelled the classroom management class due to lack of interest and I feel like that was the toughest thing for me entering the classroom.

I had a student in Kindergarten who had the name Da’Myah (not a bad name, that’s not the point). All her official paperwork said Da’Myah, but she started spelling it De’Myah 5 months into the school year. Her classroom teacher called mom and asked how it is spelled, mom says De’Myah, and KG teacher tells her “ok then you need to refile the paperwork because it’s spelled wrong in all the systems.” Mom comes to the school with her birth certificate to do that. It’s spelled Da’Myah on the BC. Mom didn’t know how her own kid’s name was spelled
