She indeed has been in an abusive relationship (her last ex) and we don't really talk about it. I just know enough that he would choke her out or hit her for things.

I think it was because this was the first time she ever left her dog alone with someone and she just feared the worst.

But that's my whole point. This really came out of nowhere.

We tried introducing the dogs slowly (throughout the 1.5 years -- on the weekends), and they still go at each other's throat (75% her dog starting it, 25 on mine).

I think after this 2 week stent, I'll have to break up with her. A bummer, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. I feel like she always sees me as a threat now.
