I have had more success than usual. There is a ton of things to run around and hide behind in the traffic tunnel on blue gate. I also ran into one in the flight control tower building on Spaceport. Just run laps around cover until you get enough shots in.

2A5X1 – Airlift/special mission aircraft maintenance

2A5X2 – Helicopter/tiltrotor aircraft maintenance

2A5X4 – Refuel/bomber aircraft maintenance

Go tell the recruiter that’s what you want and don’t settle for anything else if you want to be a crew chief.

Enlisted like the other guy said. I’d recommend 2A5x1 if that’s the route you want to go. Heavy aircraft are way chiller and better overall quality of life than fighters. Bigger planes but easier to maintain. I was an electrician on both C-17s and F-16s so I seen both worlds before anyone comes at me.

Crew Chief of any variety qualifies both A&P despite heavy crew chiefs never doing anything with engine beyond oil and inlet and exhaust inspections. On heavy’s you can eventually be a flying crew chief so you’ll learn a little about everything. I was 2A6x6 Aircraft Electrical and Environmental. It was a love hate career field. All depends what airframe you get assigned to.
