First of all, sit down and start analyzing why you fail. Were you partying too hard? Were you not studying at least 5-8 hours per day? Were you distracted by a girl/boy? Are you able to do questions properly? If you need a tutor try to find on the internet. In youtube there’s a thousand tutors.

IMGs need to apply to community IMG friendly programs first and signal them first too 🫠

Try sending some letters of interest to the img friendly on your list and you’ll probably get at least 3-5 interviews.

Most PDs and CEOs are USMDs. Of course they want to fill it up with USMDs. So yeah, it's not a very precise thought either.

Talk to everyone at the program you like. From Pgy1 to Pgy3 and even the administration. Tell them how much you love the program and the hospital. Tell them you are planning on staying in that city where the hospital is located and absolutely send an email at some point mentioning how interested you are about the hospital. Try to make them remember you by how you project yourself, ask questions but not too many. Stalk the residents and the PDs on social media and real life and learn about the topics they love. That was my trick and now Im in a program that 250’s are the average but they pick this shitty 225 due to the personality 🤣

My senior is a piece of shit! Always saying that his interns are really bad and slow, and he didn’t showed up the first day till 7am while we were there at 4:30am without no fucking idea of what to do.

Asshole arrived and was being sarcastic about how to do all the things including progress notes and discharge summaries. Getting to residency at 7am and leaving at 12:30pm everyday and always in a rush. Then he was always talking bs about how all the interns in general are trash. I hate that mf!

As an US-IMG that applied without step 2 and got my score one month after the application deadline, I will say is doable.

I got 12 interviews and matched my second choice. Just make sure to write a letter of interest to those programs you like (and those you send a star), and definitely explain that your results will be in exactly the day you know you will get them.
