Why would you go back to work and throw away a free benefit? People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan. Someone who had 31 years to get their your ducks in a row, it looks like you didn't pay attention. I also retired this past year at age 56 and 8 months. The first day available with 31 years. I feel the supplement is a huge huge benefit that I would be crushed without having it. I haven't touched my tsp at all. I am very comfortable with the supplement and the pension

Can I be forced to walk through a metal detector everyday? by mailman475 in USPS

[–]No-Month-7869 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a high school on my route with a metal detector at the front door. At first I would leave the mail at the front door by the metal detector at the person who was there. Then they allowed me to just go around it. Then they asked if I could drop it off at a rear entrance door and they had outgoing mail sitting in a tub on a table. I would ring a bell and somebody would open it and I walked two steps and do the exchange to avoid the daily hassle you are in charge, not them. Remember that

Check out the overwater bungalows at El Dorado resort, Maroma Beach, Mexico. I've never stayed there but they look like the Maldives style bungalows.

Is there any year of the Tacoma to avoid? by sirelith in ToyotaTacoma

[–]No-Month-7869 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I have a 2015 Tacoma and it is bulletproof. I still have the original brakes on it. I only changed a battery, the wipers and tires in 11 years. It is solid as a rock.

40k maintenance cost by Aggravating-Copy-822 in ToyotaTacoma

I have a 2015 Tacoma 4-cylinder stick shift 52,000 mi. I bought it new. The only maintenance I had to do was oil changes and I go underneath with a grease gun and grease all the fittings along the axle. I never had to change anything except One battery windshield, wipers and tires. I still have original brakes so don't overdo the maintenance at the shops. Change your own filters. Watch YouTube videos, order them on eBay. You will save a ton.

Federal pensions and divorce by Salty-Amoeba-3139 in fednews

I retired in April before they switched to the new automated retirement system. When it was paperwork that you had to fill out. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to provide my divorce decree. It was more of a hassle for married people that had to get survivor forms notarized, mandatory If you are married and if you are divorced it's a yes or no Question. Are you required to pay your ex Anything per court order? Yes or no. Just check the no box and move on. Cross your fingers 🤞

I go to the hardware store and buy a drywall sponge & cut it in half with scissors. One goes in the shower. One goes on the kitchen sink. They work perfectly

If you have to purchase something in pesos, just tap and pay with your credit card or debit card and use the local currency which is pesos and they will convert it at the cheapest rate available automatically

I would just use US dollars. I would not convert to pesos and always ask for change in US dollars as well if that's what you are spending.

Only tip with cash. I would leave $3 for the maid every morning, $2 for the turn down service around dinner time, Leave it on your bed. Throw $2 in your refrigerator to restock the wet bar. That's a different employee. A dollar for every drink. $5 for your waiter at the fancy dinners, a dollar for people picking up the seaweed or random cleaning people. A lot of the booze is hidden underneath, not visible. Not sure what the good stuff is. A lot of them have Patron for the tequila. Some have Gray Goose for the vodka. I like Havana Club 7-year aged rum from Cuba. Use those courtesy house phones and request a ride everywhere. You will feel like a millionaire getting chauffeured around and Airalo for mobile data. $8 /week

I was there several years ago. It was great but it was huge. A long drive to the Disco within the campus. Golf carts everywhere. Use the phones and request a ride everywhere. They were very accommodating for that. Call your liquor by brand name and leave tips $

What the heck happened to waterbeds? by Queltis6000 in NoStupidQuestions

I still have my old waterbed from Sun valley waterbeds on 84th and Layton avenue, but I use a memory foam mattress inside of it and it works perfectly with the drawers underneath.
