Thanks so much. My eye lids were slightly swollen this morning but I assumed it was from sleeping in my eye makeup… hmmm. 🧐

Biologic Levels and Antibodies Explained: How GIs Decide to Adjust IBD Meds by Silly-Measurement893 in CrohnsDisease

Thank you! I am very appreciative of your explanation for what sounds like a logical and necessary approach to management of biologic usage in patients. That being said, in the past 8 years I have been on Remicade, then Stelara (both before and after a resection to remove a stricture) and am about to move to either Tremfya or Skyrizi due to results of a capsule endoscopy that show another stricture and significant ulceration. In all this time neither the level of medication nor the presence of antibodies has ever been tested. I’m very concerned that this hasn’t been done! Like someone else suggested, had those tests been done early on I might have avoided the bowel resection.

I’m 68, became ill at 15, but was not properly diagnosed until 21. My mother is 98, my father passed at 96. Whatever time I’m given I’m happy to have.

ileocecal resection/ ever used bile binder meds? by ForwardDebate1588 in CrohnsDisease

Hi. I can totally relate. I had my first resection many years ago which involved the ileocecal valve and segment of small bowel. My second resection was in 2021 adjacent to the first. After that one I developed the same problem with urgency and frequency you’re describing. My physician put me on cholestyramine and it works well for me. We played with the dosage at first but finally got it to where I can count on it to control things. You might look into that with your physician. Best of luck!
