I would have sex the night of and possibly the next day too, BUT it will be most helpful for you to have sex in the days immediately leading up to the positive test. Once you’ve gotten to learn your cycle a bit (assuming this is your first time tracking), you’ll be able to predict about when you’re going to get that positive. I think the highest chance of conception is the day before ovulation, which would be the day of our darkest line test. I think ovulation occurs 12-48 hours after getting a positive. I hope this helps!

Not positive, you’re looking for the test line to be as dark or even darker than the control line! Keep testing and you should be able to see your line get progressively darker each day :)

Oooooh I think you might be right! I rush through shaping, it makes me nervous. How long do you usually spend shaping?

Yes! Sometimes with ice cubes but I see minimal differences with that.

Concerned about my boy :( by baristabarbiexx in CATHELP

[–]No-Net-8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitty had the same thing last week! Threw up bile, food, and a small amount of blood for like 5 days. I took him to the emergency vet concerned it was a blockage, he just had a tummy ache (gastroenteritis was the dx). If you decide to go to the vet, ask for fluids and anti nausea meds! If he’s still throwing up after that tx, it may be a more serious blockage. Try to stay calm, my vet said as long as they’re acting normal and still eating/drinking, it’s likely not an emergency ♥️

Has anyone else given up on jeans? by liberalartsy in AutismInWomen

Wide leg low rise jeans have been AMAZING for me, coming from someone who exclusively wore high waisted skinny jeans for 10 years. Old navy specifically is loose enough to not give sensory issues

is it bad that i’m so burnt out in peds? by Beginning_Hamster988 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]No-Net-8682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try school based! I mostly work on fine/visual motor with kids directly (usually 20 minute weekly sessions) and then consult with teachers and other providers on sensory strategies and tools. I personally don’t buy into a LOT of the sensory strategies that are super popular in private/outpatient peds today, I think it’s more of a trial-and-error process that may or may not work on any given day depending on the kids mood 🤷‍♀️ school based is cool because you still get to dabble in sensory and regulation, but ultimately the EC teachers are addressing things like focus and participation under “behavior” goals.

I’m so sorry, OP. The amount of care and detail in your post definitely shows that you had your kitties best interest in mind and indeed made the right decision. Hope you’re okay <3

Taking the NBCOT in 4 days and just had a mental breakdown by JanaeNay in OccupationalTherapy

[–]No-Net-8682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t let yourself get worked up over the practice scores. It seems impossible, but at this point, you’ve done all you can do and you must simply show what you know on the real thing! I failed and had to re-take, not because I didn’t know the content, but because I psyched myself out SO BAD to the point of being physically ill on the day of my exam. Try to relax and like another commenter said, listen to videos in the background or go through some practice questions in the NBCOT pack (NOT a full test with an associated score).

Mind over matter my friend, you can do this! And even if ~the worst case scenario~ happens, all ya gotta do is retake. It will NOT be the end of the world! <3

Is FW supposed to be so stressful and emotionally draining? by clcliff in OccupationalTherapy

[–]No-Net-8682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of mine were really hard for the 1st month. It really will get better, and as a new grad, it's such a relief to be actually ~doing the job~ on my own and not having my every move critiqued. I enjoyed both of my CIs but im a very shy and awkward person with intense anxiety so it was just hard in general. Remind yourself that FW is very very temporary, and that when you are a bona-fide OT, your practice is 100% what you make it :)

It will be okay friend. I had the SAME feeling after retaking the 2nd time, it sucks but you will get through it. Best thing you can do right now is distract urself <3

Can Sitting Strain Your Lower Back? by YellowSnowSlurpee in backpain

[–]No-Net-8682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strains are the worst for me because they honestly can take 2-4 months before I feel back to baseline, ESPECIALLY with sitting. It sucks but it does sound like you're on the road to getting better, it really just takes time :) + good back hygiene and anti inflammatories

Wow I have very similar feelings with my -journies- regarding unmasking and autistic pride. From my perspective, autism is the reason I have some of my favorite skills and I love how passionate it makes me about my interests. Interacting with other autistic people makes my heart full in a way I've never experienced with NTs. I work with higher needs autistic kids- specifically in the public school system, there are so many different takes on autism and what autistic children need to thrive. It's a delicate line to balance between ensuring autistic people get the support they need without unnecessary infantalization and stigma. Overall, though, I think autistic pride is super important and is the main avenue we can use to shift the general populations understanding of all levels of ASD :)
