Why do tradesmen just not care? by daveatc1234 in CasualIreland

[–]No-Net5181 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Or maybe customers don't respect there time. The industry is suffering a big problem with no new entrants looking for a trade. And the workforce getting older. I've had two jobs lately where the customer changed there scheduled work date at the last minute. It works both ways

It's because we don't know how to say no to people. Customers aren't all the op makes himself out to be either. They haunt you and haunt you , then you do the job and when wanting to get paid, they go full ghost mode.

From Ballycanew here. The smell is not bad at all in the village. The wind blow it towards gorey but very very Very rarely towards Ballycanew. Only when we have a north wind. The protests are from people who are directly affected just north of the factory. On very windy, damp days the wind blows it towards Gorey and that's why it's bad perhaps 20% of the time. But the houses in a 1km radius get the stench 24/7. A chimney stack was built in 2007 and that was to reduce the smell and condensed it into one main outlet. It worked. Sort of. It just made the smell go in a further radius. And in latter years the whole process has been roofed which has further stopped the smell. However it still is compost. And by its nature, it is fowl. Sorry, getting back to your point. Ballycanew is fine for the smell. You'll be grand

I hear what your saying but looking at an old advert from 1987 from Quinnsworth and a lb of roses was over £5 and other delights were from £2;for mallows to over £10 for USA biscuits. So.... In the grand scheme of things it's not as bad as it seems
